BRatstails is one of the first Ratteries to discover and breed the first rexes, silks, blazed, and chocolates in Australia. We have had pet rats and been breeding on and off for over 25 years and have a keen interest in the colours & types now available. Having been disappointed with the lack of options for coat types, colour and markings available in Melbourne in our little pocket friends. I have decided to bring some more unusual selections into our local community and start up my own breeding program again. We are a very small scale Rattery located on the north/west side of Melbourne, in Mill Park. Our current breeding projects include silk, velour, wispy and other unusual coat types, in a variety of markings. We also are aiming to achieve some great colour options in these coat types, and eventually including blues and chocolates to our mix. Our PRIORITY though is to produce these without detracting from their great personalities, temperaments and the best health possible, that we feel a pet rat should have. We will only be breeding one litter at a time to further my project/s and will retain a baby or two, if showing suitable type/temperament and health to breed with, all other babies (if any) will be offered up for adoption. We will also not be breeding back to back, so we will not always have babies available. When we have a litter expected/born we will keep everyone updated as they progress. Not any one rat will be offered for adoption unless we are 100% happy with their behaviour and temperament.
