It’s all about celebrating the small wins !

Meet Oscar who proves that you can never judge a book by its cover.

Oscar has been completing hydrotherapy for weight loss management and cardio vascular fitness and he has taken out our poll position as our fastest contender in the tank!!!

Not that it’s a competition, of course, but for Oscar it is a win for this week.

Welcome to December, and the final page of our 2024 calendar. It's been so special for us to honour the lives of 12 PUR animals who have since passed over the Rainbow Bridge 🌈

In December we are remembering Tommy, who at 8 years old was dumped at the pound just before Christmas in 2018 💔 We rescued him from the pound in time for Christmas Day and Tommy was able to spend it with his loving foster family 🎄 He was then adopted in February 2019. His guardian shared with us:

"Tommy was the kindest soul. A beautiful dog that always wanted a cuddle. He loved to go for a walk and sleep inside. I miss him so much. It was obvious in his behaviour that he was mistreated. To watch him grow and trust me, and be part of a family; and to be able to give that to him was very special. I will miss him dearly. I will always remember you, Tommy."

Rest in Peace Tommy 🕊

It's November and this month we are remembering Sasha through our Across the Rainbow Bridge calendar 🌈

Sasha was one of the first dogs we ever rescued. We rescued her along with 5 other dogs who were all facing imminent euthanasia from a NSW rural pound. Sasha was rescued in April 2015, and adopted shortly after by her foster family 🥰

Her guardians reflected on their life with her and shared:

"Sasha was our best friend, she had such a kind heart and gave amazing cuddles. She was such a special girl and very sociable, would stay up at parties/bbqs until the last person left and she had a very good social life. Our friends were her friends, she would sometimes even sit on a dining chair at the table just to be part of the conversation. Sasha impacted our lives in ways we can't describe. She gave us unconditional love and showed us that even if you're an old girl, you can live your life to the fullest. We loved Sasha so much, our beautiful senior staffy."

"We miss you so much Sashy B. We now have a daughter and you would absolutely love her and she would love you. We have a drawing of you outside her room and before she goes to bed we say: "Say goodnight to Sasha", and she strokes your photo." 💗

And that’s a wrap for Max !

Max is the ever so playful Goldie that underwent bilateral elbow dysplasia surgery and has now graduated from his physiotherapy and post surgical rehab!!! 🎊🎊🎉🎉🎉🎉🙌🙌🙌🙌

As much as we hate to see our patients go, we love to see results and get doggos back to being doggos once more.

And we found her ! Tilly the Marvellous !!!

We have been helping rehabilitate and strengthen this little lady back up but like we always say, 90% of all the work is completed at home and her foster carer, Raph, is definitely the exception and the key to all her success !!

Meet Billi, the brightest ray of sunshine going around ☀️

Billi has been receiving treatment for luxating patella’s and we have been managing her conservatively with hydrotherapy, strengthening exercises and laser.

She is the prettiest, happiest papillon and brightens up the clinic when ever she’s around.

Meet Rosie !

She’s beating the winter blues by diving into her hydrotherapy sessions 💪🌊 The underwater treadmill is helping manage her arthritis and stay active and happy despite the chilly weather (lucky for Rosie the water temp remains at a balmy 32 degrees!)

Welcome to July! This month in our PUR calendar we are celebrating the life of Pancakes 🥞

Pancakes arrived at PUR in April 2018. She came to us from a country pound. Prior to the pound, it was clear that she had been used for breeding until she was unable to. Pancakes had mammary masses and was positive to heartworm.

Showered with love and care, she spent the rest of her days with her foster carer turned adopter 💛

"Little Pan as she was known was the sweetest, most gentle, loving Staffy. She was best friends with my deaf and blind senior rescue Bart. Pan loved everyone. She loved cuddles.

She loved daily trips to the office and park adventures. One favourite memory was teaching Pan how to play with a ball. Watching her run down the hallway to fetch it, her tail swinging like a helicopter in excitement.

I love you Pan, I miss you everyday. You will never be forgotten, you were so special."

Say hi ( & goodbye!) to Kaia!

We have been seeing Kaia since January this year where she went through a left TPLO followed by a right TPLO in February.

As much as we hate saying our goodbyes, we love a great success story and it was time for Kaia to return to the world of everyday dog life.

What an incredible journey for an incredible golden retriever and an even more dedicated owner who followed her rehab to a tee.
