Aurora The Vet Nurse Canine and feline rehabilitation Myotherapy and laser therapy

11/10/2025

If your vet or surgeon still isn’t recommending rehab after orthopaedic surgery in 2025… babe, it’s time to find a new one 🫠

Cold compression therapy? ✅ That can start the day of surgery.
Class IV laser therapy? ✅ Usually started the day after (and no, we’re not talking that weak-as-hell Class 3 “cold laser” crap here 😮‍💨).
Basic mobility exercises? ✅ Within 3–4 days.

“Crate rest and hope for the best” is not a rehab plan. Your dog deserves gold-standard care — and sometimes that means you have to advocate for it 💪🐶

Let’s reintroduce myself 💜🐶
Hey, I’m Aurora —a vet nurse with further studies in hydrotherapy and canine myotherapy, and an American qualification coming soon 👀
If we haven’t met yet, you’ll quickly learn just how dog obsessed I am. I’ve dedicated my whole career (and heart) to helping dogs live pain-free, active, happy lives.

At I see incredible pre- and post-injury patients and focus heavily on preventative care keeping problem-prone pups strong, fit, and thriving before issues start.

Here you’ll find:
✨ Rehab, fitness & strength work
✨ Hydrotherapy and laser therapy sessions
✨ My working assistance dog Baloo being a legend
✨ And, a whole lot of real life.

I recently lost two of my beautiful boys in a tragic accident — they deserve to be remembered, and some of my content will always reflect that love and grief 💔

I’m on a mission to reach more dog owners who need help and hit 10k followers before our Canine Flow Centre opening party 🎉
So hit follow, share with your dog-obsessed mates, and join our community of dedicated, slightly muddy, always passionate dog people 💜🐾

I’m so lucky… 🧡💚🩵

After the tragedy of the last few weeks, it’s easy to forget that. A terrible accident happened, and my world feels so different without my boys. But the love and support I’ve been showered with has shown me just how deeply they and I were loved.

For now, it’s just me and Boo, dancing, painting, crying, and leaning on this amazing community. Most of you know I struggle to let people in and depend on anyone, but I know I need to accept help if I want to keep building their legacy and growing this little dream of ours.

One day soon, I hope we can open our hearts and home to another dog who needs love, rehab, or just a safe place to land. But for now, it’s just my little lady and me, learning to navigate life together. 🐾💦

So, you might be wondering how I ended up here…

Aurora the Vet Nurse started when I was just a kid doing work experience at my local vet clinic. I fell in love with helping animals and begged the owner for a job—anything—just to be around more dogs and cats. I wasn’t great at school, but I loved dogs.

I spent four years as a junior vet nurse before moving into emergency nursing at 21. It was a shock to the system—dealing with trauma, surgeries, and life-or-death situations daily. But this is where I found my passion: rehab and surgical nursing. I spent all my free time watching rehab videos, attending webinars, and soaking up everything I could.

Then came Andy—the love of my life. A Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever with a rare genetic defect, Andy needed rehab post-surgery to learn how to walk correctly and avoid early arthritis. I worked my arse off to help him, and that obsession led me to a job at one of Australia’s biggest animal rehab centres. At my interview, I told them, "I’m never leaving." I truly believed that.

But life had other plans. I was in a DV relationship, cracks started to show at work, and I was bullied for my dyslexia. It broke me. I left my dream job, moved closer to family, and had to start over. But I still wanted to help animals. So, I put every cent I had into a laser machine, booked a booth at Dog Lovers Show, and found the most incredible, supportive clientele.

From there, we grew. A tiny shopfront turned into a factory space, we bought an underwater treadmill, and now I spend every day helping dogs live pain-free, happy lives. Dogs aren’t just my life—they’re my entire world.

Oh, and if you made it this far… meet Hip-Hop the pig. She had spinal surgery at the emergency centre where I worked, and on the day of my rehab job interview, I saw a photo of her in their underwater treadmill. The same pig, the same journey. Call it fate, but life has a funny way of working out.

Thank you for being part of it. 💜🐶

I’d love to hear from you! Drop a comment, share your own journey, or tag someone who’s as dog-obsessed as we are. Let’s chat! ⬇️🐾
