Today we celebrated our Christmas party🎄 (a little early but Christmas isn't far away!). Turns out axe throwing is harder than it looks🪓. Luckily Drew was able to show us his talent and Gretchen finished with a 'favourite axe'.

We have such a wonderful team-passionate & skilled. Thank you to Bettina, Drew, Gretchen and Eva. Phil and I are so proud of what we have achieved this year and how many pets we've been able to help!

We love a good 'before and after'

Clancy is a very special dog to us; his journey is unbelievable!
Clancy initially came to see us after rupturing both cruciates (ACL) 10 days apart. As you can see in the first video he could barely walk and his wonderful owner was carrying him around.
Surgery wasn't an option so we began conservative management with hydrotherapy. We started with twice weekly sessions for a couple of months then transitioned to weekly! Clancy now comes for maintence sessions and is able to complete 15 minutes straight with incline on the treadmill (equivalent to a 50minute walk on land)

We are so proud of both Clancy and his wonderful dedicated owner. ❤️ this is why we love what we do! animal.hospital

Happy 50th session miss Piper!

Piper has been seeing us for post surgical recovery of a TPLO. She had her left done a little while ago and had several complications and revision surgeries which is now healing well. 6 weeks ago she had a TPLO on her right leg and is having a textbook recovery! She is such a joy to work with!

Little Mimi the superstar! Nothing holds this girl back. Mimi has been coming to see us for her luxating patella. She was attending prefab prior to surgery however since begining hydrotherapy, her patella has gone from a grade 3 to grade 1 and surgery has been postponed (hopefully elimated!) 🥳 #pocketrocket #caninehydro #rehab #luxatingpatella #prehab #cutiepatootie #flyball

This is the moment that Misa took his first steps post IVDD surgery 🥲 You can see in the video that we assist the movement of his legs, and he then begins to move them himself. When Misa first presented to us, he was paralysed and had no deep pain response 4 weeks post-op (shout out to Melbourne Animal Specialist Hospital for their amazing work). We began laser therapy and then hydrotherapy twice weekly. We are so happy with his progress and determination. This is a very common presentation in cases of intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). These are very labor intesnsive cases, but this is what makes us turn up to work every day! #caninehydro #rehab #ivddsurvivor #dachshundsofinstagram

Did you know we can design a custom home exercise program for your dog? Wilfred had an incident of IVDD and has been coming for regular hydrotherapy. With a home exercise program, he can maintain and progress in between sessions! All of the equipment we use can easily be purchased from kmart/bunnings or home alternatives can be used.
