10 year old Luca is coming for regular hydrotherapy and osteopathy to help with arthritis.
Osteoarthritis leads to a permanent deterioration of the cartilage that provides cushioning for the joints often causing significant pain and discomfort and reduced aerobic activity. With no cure available, treatment centres on management strategies to help reduce the progression of clinical signs.
Muscle strength and range of motion can be improved and maintained in a controlled environment while reducing the impact on painful joints. Hydrotherapy allows the muscles and joints to relax and decrease swelling while providing oxygen to cells. It is the safest and fastest way to build muscle mass and strengthen affected areas.

Little Lola, a 3 year old Jack Russell X, slipped while getting out of the car which identified bilateral luxating patellas!
A luxating patella is when the patella or knee cap dislocates or moves out of it's normal position. Building up muscle around the stifle (knee) helps to stabalise and reduce the movement.
With the help of her big sister Lenny, Lola is on the way to getting up to her regular mischief. Because of her dedicated mum, she will be able to manage her condition conservatively.
