P U P P Y P R E S C H O O L 🐾🐕🎓

Meet our Puppy Pre School Trainer, Kate from , pictured here with her girls Java and Moo!

Kate tells us: My passion is puppies and starting them correctly to develop into stable, confident and independent dogs.
I take an holistic approach to training that considers the dog's physical and psychological needs but also includes what the owners need.
Qualified via Cert III Dog Training & Behaviour - NDTF (National Dog Training Federation) 2011
I have competed in ANKC Obedience, Rally, Tracking and Track & Search with my Rottweilers.
One of my dogs (Java) was an accredited Therapy Dog through Dogs Victoria and worked as a Reading Buddy for Brimbank Council, visited schools for children with special needs and was an ambassador for Dogs Victoria at the annual Dog Expo.
My current girl Magic (aka Moo) is the therapy dog for Living Legends working with the retired racehorses in their rehabilitation for life after racing.
And I am currently the Tester for the Therapy Dog Program run by Dogs Victoria.

🐶 Furry Faces Friday 🐱

As our pets reach their senior years, it is a good idea to monitor blood pressure as a high or low reading can be a sign of underlying disease. 🩺

⬆️ Hypertension, or high blood pressure, can also cause further complications in our pets, such as sudden vision loss, nose bleeds, left-sided heart enlargement or (worsening) kidney disease.
In cats the two most common diseases that lead to high blood pressure are an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) and chronic renal (kidney) failure.

⬇️ Hypotension, or low blood pressure, can lead to inadequate blood supply and oxygen supply of critical organs such as the brain and kidneys, and can be very serious. Symptoms of hypotension can be weakness, depression, lethargy, confusion, fainting, and signs of kidney failure.

It can sometimes be difficult to obtain "accurate" readings when pets are visiting the clinic as they can be stressed or excited and wriggly, but we have some tricks up our sleeves!
