My beautiful bindi. 💓
I can’t wait till daylight savings and working at 6:30 doesn’t mean dark anymore 🌙 🌠🌟
Hi Lane Equestrian family! We are raising money for cancer for youth and holding an open day on the 26th of October where you can cut or colour your hair for a small donation of $20 or $10. I will also be dying my hair! If you can spare even $1 to donate it would mean a lot. My family and millions of others have been affected by cancer and doing my part is very important to me regarding awareness and fundraising. 💓🦄 I love you all, Thankyou for your awareness and if you donate. 🐴
Regards,
Taryn.
We are taking part in National Bandanna Day so no young person has to go through cancer alone. Please sponsor us and support our efforts to stand up to cancer!
cute lil face 💓
doing some work off our seat, and gotta roll those legs out when you ride a massive beautiful thoroughbred 🐴
Love this guy heaps.
Ba****ck, bridleless, and only a neck strap💓
Always trying something new with bindi! Didn’t take her long to adapt and learn in this one session.
This is where all of your seat and leg work that you work on with lessons with me or that I work on with bindi!
This was so freeing and so amazing to know I can have trust in my girl.
This horse heals my soul and I love every second with her! 🥰

Our Tiny Riders program that last week.
The kids get an hour session where they learn to lead their ponies, attempt obstacles, dress up our ponies and have heaps of pony rides.
The kids always come in shy and then are pony obsessed by the end….. mission accomplished 🤪🤪🤪
Blessed to have amazing ponies like cookie, max and Pippa!
While mr mate is out on a small spell after an abscess, let’s look back on him being a shiny beauty during his riding lesson with Magenta Rusden 🐴🐴

Bindi has been a beautiful partner to my client Sienna. Sienna has only done a few weeks of lessons. And when beginning she was very scared and nervous, but once she realised she can trust bindi, they meshed really well and have both been absolutely smashing their lessons. I’m so proud I could cry!
I am blessed every single day that bindi has come into my life, that I had the pleasure to break her in and train her up, and in return she has become one of our brilliant school horses where we get to share her love for riding with them!

I need the step to get the good scratches for this girl!
This girl is coming so far in her training. We haven’t had a huge amount of time as we have been building our riding school but she picked up her back feet safely for the first time this week. Previously she would throw a damn good kick getting near those areas but the more work we did taking it slow, we got there. ❤️
by we, I mean Bethanie Studd and I.
One ear forward one ear back 🐴
This is what I LOVE instilling in all the horses I work with.
Ear forward = I am aware and taking in my surroundings
Ear back = I am listening to you.
Combined this gives you a horse that is allowed the mental freedom to still be curious and look around at whatever they would like to look at, whilst still acknowledging that you are there and are ready to listen when instructions change.
I encourage curiosity and focus, they are animals and are allowed the freedom to look at their surroundings and wonder what’s going on. ❤️
Over a year ago, I lost one of my closest friends to cancer. One of the first people to push me to do what I love. I met her through a friend of mine who needed help with their pony. The first time I met her, it felt like we were meant to be friends. From that day forward, we texted almost every single day for a year. In the process I also become so very close to her daughter, who was almost 12.
This is her daughter here. I smile when I see her supporting my business now, because when her mum and I met, I didn’t even dream of making this a business. Shes one of the ones who believed in me so much to make me take that leap.
I miss her so much, and I know this is a business page, but she’s one of the reasons I am here even posting this and posting my love for horses.
Nothing makes me happier than happy kids with happy ponies.
I am SO blessed that through Sage Stables that I get to make great memories providing kids with a safe space to love ponies.
It is even more rewarding when I get given these beautiful moments with the kids too.
She was very shy in the beginning but by the end she warmed up so much with the ponies and I, and I feel grateful I got to provide an environment for her to feel safe to do so.
Blessed everyday that my best friend and I get to do what we love over at sage stables. ❤️
Happy Friday from my girl Arna 🧡🦄
Bella floating update 🧡🔥😛
All shut in. After developing a few forward and relax buttons in Bella, she has overcome the fear of acrurally loading, and will load brilliantly, so today we decided it was time to shut her in. It took a few goes and a few freak outs, but after that, we shut her in nicely and she relaxed.
Here’s her tongue out to show you how proud she is of herself!
And Thankyou to Brett who helped be my second hands today.
Next challenge is to float her somewhere do some riding and then try to float her back on. 🥰
Yay Bella. 🔥
Something has clicked for this boy today 🙏
Mate used to be incredibly hard to get forward, super lazy and almost checked out. I’ve taught him to lunge about 6 weeks ago, it’s been a valuable tool to teach him his voice cues and being pushed forward.
Today was the first time I was able to trot him around able to have him engaged, atleast one ear on me the whole time, and forward.
My heart is full today, it’s so heart warming when something finally clicks for them that you’ve worked so hard for.
❤️🦄

Miss Alina asking if she can set up her own cones for our lesson. ✨
Teaching some beginner lessons on Mate with a beautiful client. 🤎
We are all about foundations 👏
During lessons for beginners, for us it’s not all about riding. When littlies come in to learn about horses and riding, we teach horse safety and leading, tacking up, grooming and mounting - for all ages.
Alina is 3 years old, and is very happy learning everything she can, soaking it up like a sponge 🧽❤️
We find the kids feel much more involved and accomplished when we include them in all aspects of horse life. Laying all the foundations from the very beginning. 🤍

Beautiful morning this morning for some long rein training with our newest rescue Max. 🤎
Cookie and her riding friends = happiness🤎🤍
So much happiness today. And laughs. And lot of kids going home saying they want their own pony! 🤫
Courtnee Mowat including this cheeky one.. 😜
Loving school holidays over at Sage Stables !!
Bindi with a happy beginner rider 🤎🤍
So much reward here. 🧡
I have done 4 sessions of float training with Bella. Before I started she was an avid massive rearer under pressure or with any expectation to walk on the float.
I pride myself on no punishment- I never punished her rearing, I just kept the pressure until she came back to me. She developed trust with me, and will now willingly walk onto the float with CONFIDENCE.
We are now working on her being confident in standing still so we can start closing it up behind her.
A lot of people tend to rush wanting to get their horses on the float, and see no point in being super patient and don’t see any improvement as they “aren’t getting on the float” which is their goal. For me the goal is trust and confidence, only then so I expect her to follow me on. And as soon as she did, she got on.
Going against some people judgement can be really hard training horses when you know your own values. My values are low energy and trust and anyone knows the only reason I deviate is if their is dangerous poor manners.
Proud of you Bella. 🧡
Trust 🤍🤎

Evie working on steering, keeping herself upright and keeping Magic’s neck nice and straight.
First go at this exercise last week. watch from first go to second go and you can already see the improvement.
📸 Evie & Magic
One of my favourite exercises to lower energy AND solidify pressure release.
Lowering your horses head below their wither, can decrease the amount of adrenaline that pumps through their veins.
I LOVE to use this skill in stressful situations. I have a schooling horse who would basically fly like a kite down the road, and we have implemented this into his walks, and he will now actually naturally carry his head lower, and regulate his emotions himself believe it or not.

Nothing is safe from Bella’s nose! 🐴 🧡 A leaf stuck in my windshield was very entertaining for her 🍁
Playing with speeds with Busker 🏃♂️ 👀 peep me tripping over my own feet lol. He stopped and was like what are you doing woman! Been good keeping up groundwork. I love groundwork so much. 🖤
“ let’s fire the weapon, we won’t stop until we are legends” ❤️🎶 So blessed to be your coach little miss. She’s so incredible… 6 years old everyone clap 👏
Getting miss cookie riding school ready. 🥰 She’s already has a few little riders on her! But being a previous RDA pony, that’s no trouble for her. Here’s her trotting around on the long rein. 💜
Evie is cantering! 😍😍😍 Honestly I have no words. Evie was 5 when we first started, had just come back riding after falling off and breaking her arm. It took us a long time to conquer her fears, it was a lot of hard work and tears. Once she learnt to trust herself again, that was it! It was “let’s trot everywhere” “I don’t need to leadline anymore” “I don’t want to trot i want to canter!” Today when she cantered and did so well at it, and was excited and happy before and after just goes to show how regular work and overcoming fears even when it’s hard, gets you to a place where you can trust yourself and your horse. Every week I get something new from Evie. A new thing she wants to try or a new thing to progress from. I barely ever get a no now. She is up for anything. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Chewing/ Licking during work. 🙌 We all love and encourage our horses to be thinking well when we are working them. Chewing and licking is a massive indicator of that! I always allow them the space to stop and chew rather than work them through it. At least for mate, he works much better once he is able to stop and think in the middle of a groundwork session. He always comes out the other side more willing. ❤️
