The lost dogs home are looking for blankets to keep everyone warm this winter! Feel free to bring any spares with you to your next appointment or just drop any off to us in your spare time and we will take them out to LDH for you! 💙

The Lost Dogs’ Home is calling on everyone who is an animal lover to get behind the 2024 Big Blankie Drive!

The annual call out for blankets to keep our animals warm and snug is now on, and the Home is hoping the community will get behind the appeal and support our animals. Both our North Melbourne and Cranbourne shelters are critically low of blankets with freezing temperatures already gripping the State. Blankets are used for bedding for more than 18,000 animals coming through our doors every year, it is crucial we have enough to go around.

Sadly, this year we have had an enormous increase of animals arriving at our shelters, so the need is even more critical than previous years. Please note that unfortunately we can’t use doonas, pillows or sheets. These items can be very difficult to clean and maintain for re-use.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic part time dog groomer to join our team!

Ideal candidate-
-Significant experience working as a groomer, either mobile or in a salon
-Positive and patient person, with a genuine love for animals
-Confident handling dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds
-Physically fit as the job can be quite demanding at times
-Excellent communication skills and customer service
-Must be available on Saturdays, 8am- 1pm
