POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

Welcome Boarding Kennels & Cattery is looking for enthusiastic young individuals to fill 2 Junior Animal Attendant roles over the coming Christmas/January school holiday period.

The positions available are:
• 1 Casual Junior Cattery Attendant
• 1 Casual Junior Kennel Attendant

Candidates need to be available to work up to 5 shifts per week,
Monday to Sunday. These shifts may include work on any of the public holiday throughout December and January.

Training will commence in November (which can be flexible to candidates’ availability.)

The roles are ideal for students or recently graduated students looking for holiday work in the animal industry.

Applicants should be:
• Comfortable working around cats/dogs of all sizes
• Have a reasonable level of fitness
• Enjoy working in a fast paced and physically demanding role
• Work well in a team
• Available throughout the entire school holiday period (20th Dec – 31st Jan)

Applicants are required to hand in resumes to reception at Welcome Boarding Kennels and Cattery (605 Yan Yean Road, Yarrambat) by Monday 14th November.

Is looking to hire a Casual Ongoing Driver.
Applicants must:
• Be available to work weekdays including most Public Holidays
• Able to work early mornings
• Be reliable, punctual and able to provide excellent customer service
• Be confident handling dogs and cats of different temperaments and sizes
• Be committed to working as part of a team or independently
• Provide a cover letter and current resume with at least 3 references
• Be willing to adhere to Victorian Code of Practice for Boarding Establishments and provide a current tetanus vaccination certification
• Comply with the current government health directive for authorised workers in our industry. All applicants need to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as per the current Victorian Government Mandate

Relevant inherent safety risks will be discussed in interviews. Please do not apply if working in close proximity to animals creates a risk to your health.

Some of our guests literally "kick back" in our Deluxe Suites like this friendly fella, Smokey. Our Deluxe Suites are situated on the top floor of our Cattery and each Suite has a private window balcony in which our feline visitors can lounge in at their own leisure and spy on their surroundings.

Senior dogs ❤️ Our ageing visitors, like Jackie the kelpie cross, still enjoy visiting Welcome for their doggie holidays and we have heating and cooling options for their additional comfort. All of our Verandah Rooms have a water misting cooling system for the summer months and the option to book a radiant heater in the cooler months. Alternatively we have our Indoor Deluxe accommodation which is completely indoor and climate controlled.

We are currently taking reservations for the Christmas/New Year period and can be contacted on ☎️(03) 9436 2240 for any enquiries.

All being well with some local travel being permitted, we are so looking forward to seeing our regular customers who we have dearly missed and meeting new faces as we move toward the end of the year. 🐶😺

We love making friends! 🐶🐶 Skipper and Dash the male Labradors have met and become roommates at Welcome Kennels resulting in an abundance of fun! 😄 These active boys are enjoying one of our All Day Run Rooms for Large Dogs in which they have an exercise yard attached to their room that they can access at their own leisure.

Our recent visitor, Missy, posing on her post in the playground. She'd always make the most out of playtime, frequently in upside-down mode.. quite the contortionist, she is 😸

Our cattery playgrounds are spacious and furnished for our cats' entertainment and there are plenty of comfy napping spots to choose from. These fully enclosed playgrounds overlook a native garden which allows for bird watching.

Throughout the Melbourne lockdown we have had fewer visitors than usual but those that have been boarding with us have kept us great company, like this stunning boy. 😸🧶 Teddy is very playful (and cheeky!) and we look forward to having him visit us again.

This photogenic lady is one of our regular senior visitors. Stinky is around 18 years of age and always settles in well at her home away from home.
