Welcome back from the dead, Mazzy!
(Looking for a foster or forever home...)

Mazzy, like many other female cats, was abandoned by her human family when she "kept getting herself pregnant". Rather than doing the responsible thing and getting her desexed, her humans decided it was easier to dump her somewhere.

They then went the extra step in an effort to sever all ties, and updated her microchip status to say she was "deceased".

Luckily, Mazzy and her kittens were eventually found on the street by a wonderful human who worked tirelessly to earn their trust. This kindhearted person slowly got them comfortable with coming into her house, and began the socialisation process.
From there, she reached out to us for help.

Having a "deceased" cat in our care added a layer of complication to things, as we are not authorised to make any decisions about major medical procedures, etc. Furthermore, rescues are not granted access to microchip information, so we could not rectify things ourselves. Luckily, after reaching out to both Central Animal Records and The Vet Project for help, we were finally able to get Mazzy resurrected from her former status and officially into our name.

The beautiful Max is still looking for his forever home. Growing bigger each day and quickly becoming “not cute” to people who want tiny kittens. We’re hoping someone likes a “plain and boring” male tuxie to join their home. What he lacks in “cutest kitten ever” he makes up for in sweetness and being the best boy.

Ricky is just one half of the dynamic duo you could have snuggling up a storm in your home. Ricky and Cinnamon are the sweetest little couple you’ve ever met. Cinnamon is blind in 1 eye so she has developed a little bit of dependence on Ricky to help her through her day. We’d love to see them rehomed together 🥰

Yesterday was International Cat Day, and our beautiful little Calamity Jane was really hoping someone would celebrate the day by adopting her.
Sadly, no luck. 😿

But rather than being discouraged, our resident CowKitten has decided to give hope second chance by declaring today to be INTERNATIONAL COW DAY!
Maybe today will bring her some much needed love and appreciation.
Maybe today is the day she will find her forever home. 🤞🤞

Little Calamity Jane has not had a single enquiry. She is truly one of the sweetest, cutest, silliest (and most photogenic!) kittens we have ever had the joy of caring for, and it hurts our hearts that no one seems to notice her.

Our resident food inspector can’t help but let us know she wants third breakfasts when we receive food from Animal Rescue Cooperative (ARC) Greater Melbourne. Her grumbly tummy is so appreciative of all the help ARC gives us and so many other rescues around Melbourne.

"Do whatever you want with him."

This beautiful boy was left outside to fend for himself. He was fighting the local cats and undoubtedly siring kittens left and right.

Concerned neighbours began feeding him, and reached out to us for help.

We tracked down his 'family' and this was their attitude.
They didn't want him, so they simply abandoned him.
No food. No shelter. No love. No vet work.

What will happen to him?
They couldn't care less.
😿

Councils and animal 'welfare' organisations won't do a thing to stop tragedies like this, so that's where rescues like us come in.

So, everyone, say hello to Conan.

He is an *unbelievably* sweet boy.
He is smoochy and purry and adores belly rubs.

He gets along incredibly well with the other cats in the house, so the fights he was starting in the neighbourhood were very likely out of desperation (for food and females).

He will be desexed on Thursday and then he'll be up for adoption. If you need a handsome, affectionate ginger in your life, please give Conan a chance.

He deserves a happily ever after. 🥰

Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s Malaseb 😻

Although we don’t usually recommend bathing kitties because we all know they come in self-cleaning models, we like to wash some of the kitties that come in to care to make sure they’re flea and grime free. We find it also helps them be handled if medications are needed.

This is the latest superstar to ensure a good fur-wash 😻💕 She, her mum, and her siblings came into our care with ringworm, so they have to live in strict quarantine, receive daily meds and topical treatments, and get bathed every few days until they are fungus free!

Pepita needs a temporary place to stay until she can find a forever home.

She is one of the sweetest, most laid back cats we have ever met and we do not understand why no one has adopted her yet!
Unfortunately her (absolutely amazing!) foster carer had to go overseas and Pepita needs a new place to stay.

She is purry and sweet and tidy and simply one of the best cats you could hope for. She gets along beautifully with other cats and has previously lived with a gentle dog.

Have you ever wanted the tippy taps of tiny cat-criminals in the house but unsure where to find it? Then AJ & Max are for you!

You may have seen us reach out for a foster for these 2 babies a couple of months ago and thankfully someone stepped up to give them a chance! Now that they’re used to humans and are fully vetworked, they are looking for their forever home!

Max is more confident than his sister, AJ, who is still uncertain if she can trust humans. With this in mind, we’d love to see them rehomed together so that Max can continue to help AJ get up to mischief while the humans are looking and not stealthily in the night like batman - even if that’s who she looks like 😹
