Following on from our previous post regarding having to close due to a COVID-19 positive staff member, we are pleased to announce we will be open again 6am Tuesday the 26th of October with all of our normal veterinary services.

We understand some of you will be concerned about your own risk of exposure. As previously stated the exposure was Monday the 18th of October. We have not had confirmation that we are a tier 1 site from the Government as yet, but we met their criteria. Thankfully our contactless consulting systems along with the known movements of the positive staff member mean that masked clients are not deemed primary contacts as far as the government guidelines indicate. We have no clients who are deemed close contacts according to the guidelines.

Having said this, we cannot unfortunately speak on behalf of the Government however, and encourage you to seek your own advice regarding testing and isolation from the covid hotline, or the Victorian Government Coronavirus website:

**COVID 19 ANNOUNCEMENT**

Advanced Vetcare will be closed Sat 23rd, Sunday 24th and Monday 25th October 2021 due to having a staff member test positive for COVID. We plan to re-open on Tuesday 26th of October for Emergency and Specialist Veterinary services. We will keep you informed as we receive further advice.

We are very excited to celebrate with all of you at 11.59pm tonight! Our furry friends have been our solace, companions and Netflix buddies during the last 200+ days of lockdown and we want to make sure they can keep receiving the best medical care after.

To ensure we can continue to provide 24hr emergency veterinary service to the pets of Victoria, our contactless protocols in hospital will continue in order to protect our vets, nurses and clients. This will be continuously assessed as the Victorian restrictions ease and we will keep you all updated. Thank you for your patience and understanding (and delicious gifts!) during this time whilst our team take the very best care of your 4 legged loved ones.

Adorable little Kenny recently spent time in hospital with our ICU and surgery departments after eating part of his toy. The toy unfortunately became stuck in his intestines. Kenny underwent surgery by Dr Stephanie to remove the toy. Kenny is back home recovering from surgery and is returning to his bright puppy self. We wish Kenny the very best in his recovery.

A big thank you to Kenny's wonderful parents who kept us all well fed with lots of treats!
