You may be aware that a microchip registry has recently been delisted by the Victorian Government.
At Tooronga Vet Hospital, we have never used this company.
The Victorian Government will notify you if you have a pet whose details are registered with the delisted company. However, this relies on your contact details being up to date.
We are offering a complimentary service in which you can bring your pet to our practice to have their microchip scanned. This will enable us to check that they are registered with a reputable company as well as ensure your contact details up to date.
Sadly, we see many lost pets that have microchip registration details that have not been updated following a change of address or phone number. This can make it very challenging to reunite lost dogs and cats with their pet parents.
Please also note that microchip registration is completely independent of council registration.

Puppacinos were a huge hit!
Weโre thrilled to announce that weโre now offering acupuncture and nutrition services for your furry friends. Dr Tristan Maugueret is a certified Veterinary Acupuncturist through IVAS, and has completed additional studies in nutrition through the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies.
Acupuncture is a valuable tool in a multi-modal approach to disease management. This is not meant to replace traditional veterinary treatments, but used as an adjunct to complement them. Often it means we can use less drugs or medications long term, or, speed up recovery times.
Common conditions treated by acupuncture include;
- Osteoarthritis
- Spinal Disease
- Neurological Disease
- Behavioural / Anxiety Disorders
Dr Tristan also offers nutrition consultations tailored to your petโs specific needs and conditions. We offer guidance on choosing the right diet, whether itโs selecting the best commercial pet food, formulating balanced homemade meals, or addressing dietary concerns such as allergies, weight management or chronic health issues.
