Hello everybody, just a reminder we’ve got less than 48 hrs left till we close the doors for the last time this year!!!

Don’t know what’s more worn out at the moment, our bodies or the poor buttons on the calculator 😂 but all orders have been added up and due to a combination of cancellations and us allowing a bit extra for those that weren’t aware of the order cut off dates we do have some spare meat to offer so if you’re not sure if you’re gonna have enough to get through till the 8th of Jan feel free to give us a buzz cos you can come and pick up a little extra either today, tomorrow or until 1pm Sat!

If we don’t see you before then wishing you a Merry Christmas and happy new year, as always stay safe, enjoy the break and see you when we’re looking at you!!!

Thankyou so much to everyone who has already put their Christmas orders in, the trusty calculators copping a beating at the moment while we’re constantly keeping track of the weights everyone has ordered so we don’t exceed what we’re expecting to get delivered in each day!

We have just received new dates from suppliers regarding the meat deliveries and order cut off dates, so PLEASE NOTE we originally thought we had until the 16th to finalise our orders for the final week of the year.

We need to have our final orders placed
for meat coming in by close of business WED 13th

This means we need to know all of your orders before 5:30pm WED 13th Dec

Christmas holiday dates have been confirmed!

We will close the shop at 1pm on Saturday 23rd Dec and we will re open Mon 8th Jan.

It’ll be the same as last year, for the final week of trade we will be working strictly to pre placed orders.

Anything you want to pick up in the final week of Mon 18th Dec to Sat 23rd Dec MUST be ordered prior to Sat 16th Dec.

When working out what you’ll need to cover the two week break please keep in mind we are working with the same volume of meat throughout the Christmas period, we can’t increase our orders so we cannot supply everyone hoping to double up in the last week or so of trade, that is why we are encouraging everyone to start picking up extra now to store for the break and the earlier you get an order in for the final week the better your chances of getting what you want/need!

CLOSE 1pm Sat 23rd Dec
OPEN 8am Mon 8th Jan

Cutoff for placing orders to be picked up in the final week of trade Sat 16th Dec

Today is the start of our 6 week countdown till we shut for the Christmas break! Shop will shut for the year at 1pm on Saturday 23rd Dec and we’re just waiting for suppliers to let us know dates for when they’ll return in the new year cos that will determine when we re open! As always we’ll keep you updated here as soon as we know but now is the time to start organising how much you’ll need for a week or two break and start taking extra home to stockpile before we close because like last year we cannot double up any orders in the last couple of weeks trade!

Footy finals fever is here!!! Not only was Jason the first customer through the door this morning and had the privilege of seeing my fine face first thing in the morning but he also happens to be the first entry to our Grand Final giveaway!!!
So head on down cos we’ve got plenty of everyday bargain basement deals like 20kg Happy Dog for a low $35 and some superb and super comfy memory foam beds slashed in price this weekend!!!

The phrase ‘it’s a dogs life’ means a difficult boring unhappy existence.
Just spotted Pum looking incredibly bored and unhappy in a clearly very difficult spot to be in on a wet winter afternoon, might just cash in on this dogs life action while it’s too wet to mow the lawns 😂 if you have to go outside hope you can stay dry, if you’re on the roads drive safe and whatever you’re doing this weekend hope it’s a good one!

A few bumps along the way but we got there! With restricted supply in the lead up to christmas and the volume of orders we had at one point we weren't sure we could cover everything but a massive thankyou to you all for working with us and getting on board organising yourselves, thankyou for your patience when we said you couldn't collect your orders when you wanted to and had to wait for a text saying now you can come in, thankyou to the generosity of those that sacrificed getting extra so that others could get enough to see them through the break, thankyou for another year of laughs and thankyou for letting me spend some quality bonding time with my couch and tv for the next few days 🤣

Only just learnt fur babies can get a pic with Santa too, my daughter Phoebe is working for Studio Reflections Photography all this week at Hunt Club Village in Cranbourne, if you are near there and want one, you can pop in anytime during the day no need to book but they close at 4:30pm! Just took Pum in for her first ever Santa photo 😍

Just one of the many reasons I love what I do here at Dandy West!!!
20yr old son was complaining last night about needing a hair cut desperately before starting a new job tomorrow, the place he was a regular at relocated awhile back and after trialling a few different barbers locally he wasn't happy with any of their work.

Today I overheard a convo between Rod and a regular customer and picked up on the Barbering theme. Not only did I discover the barber shop our customer works at is local to home but I also learnt this regular customer's name is Aaron, up until now he's been the dude that came in and got roo and chicken necks 😂 Passed the details of the barber shop Aaron works at onto my son and just pulled in the driveway at home to receive this message.... Aaron, no idea if you're on our page and will even see this, but that message I just got is all thanks to you!!!

A person I didn't know by name until today, the same person that I have served for a long time now is the reason I just had a huge smile on my dial reading that message from my child 🤗 cos I do and what you do, no matter how simple it is, can light up random strangers days!

Rod's always been the brains behind the operation I'm just here for decoration and to post his genius 😂

So we started our favourite task of mincing chicken for the day and Rod decided to crush the carcass first in a bid to speed up the process.

The clouds parted, a ray of sunshine burst through the shop window and I swear I heard a hallelujah and lo and behold we now offer Crushed Chicken Carcass at $3 per kilo!

The whole carcass including the neck, heart and liver is crushed making a great meal suitable for larger dogs and can even be used for making a broth!

We're all getting used to seeing empty racks and shelves at the shops, supply is tough and for us this weather is making it even harder with flooded areas affecting access to and the transportation of our meat supplies.

We are only 5½ weeks away from Christmas! We're already experiencing supply cutbacks so we are asking you all to be super organised with your orders this year as we will be closing for 2 weeks over the Christmas and New Years break.

Please jot these important dates in your calendars...

Last day of trade for the year is Christmas eve. We will close the doors at 1pm on Sat 24th Dec and we will open back up Mon 9th Jan 2023.

We cannot increase the amount of meat coming into the shop so we cannot offer any extra meat to people hoping to "double up" their orders in the last week before Christmas so please start working out what you need to get you through while we're closed and start taking home extra meat now to ensure you have enough!

For example if you use 10kg a week you'll need to have 20kgs stored by the time we close to cover you until we're open again next year. If you take home an extra 5kg for the next 4 weeks you will be right 👍 if you leave it to the last minute there's every chance we won't be able to offer you that amount.

This is probably the most important date to remember, we are closing the book off on SATURDAY 17th DEC.

All orders for the final week of trade MUST BE IN by the 17th of Dec, all orders must be placed directly through to the shop on 9791 7498 not via Facebook please.

Sorry for the novel but we are trying to organise ourselves as best we can in the lead up to the crazy Christmas period and we are providing you with all the information we can so you can work out what you need and get your orders in asap to ensure you actually get what you need!

Anyone else in the same boat, when the kids were younger it did my head in getting evicted from my own bed when they hijacked it with their tiny bodies every night but a 16kg staffy does it and somehow it's the most adorable thing ever 😍 and yes I'm waiting for the "you love her more than us" backlash when the human babies see this 😂
