Free Trugo Family Fun Day this Sunday at the Footscray Trugo Club, 139 Buckley St, Footscray. Come and try the unique sport of trugo. Free BBQ, coffee, non-alcohol beer, and face painting from midday.

A warm welcome to Dennis and Myla, who have taken over Chibog Restaurant in Barkly St.
They will continue running it as a Filipino Fusion restaurant and will add to the current menu and a new drinks menu.
The restaurant is now called ‘Busog’ which Professor Google tells us, “is a term used to indicate a person is full, or stuffed, from food.”

Forecasted opening is in the 3rd week of September.
Let’s give them a usual West Footscray welcome to show them how supportive we are as a community.

Also a big thanks to the previous owners for all the amazing food and times they gave us.

Cr Carter was instrumental in assisting traders through the Covid pandemic including subsidies in membership fees, social media posts and other efforts.
Always up for challenges and full of life, she will be sorely missed. Gone to young.

Our condolences to family and friends in this time of grief.

Council is tonight shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Councillor and former Mayor Sarah Carter.

Councillor Carter was a trusted and valued colleague and her passing is an enormous loss to our community who she has worked tirelessly to support over her 16 years on Council.

Maribyrnong’s first three-time female Mayor, councillor Carter was only the second Mayor in our municipality’s history to achieve Emeritus status – the highest recognition for distinguished service in local government leadership.

We extend our deepest condolences to Cr Carter’s partner, family, friends, and all who knew and worked alongside her.

She will be greatly missed.
