Merry Christmas from the Soundiagnosis team! We wish all our wonderful clients a relaxing break.
We will be closed tomorrow Wednesday 25th (Christmas day) to Sunday 29th and reopen on Monday the 30th of December. We will also be closed for the New Year's Day public holiday on Wednesday 1st January.

A 5 year-old male entire, Stafforshire terrier was presented for abdominal ultrasound due to recurrent haematuria with no significant improvement on antibiotic and antinflammatory therapy.

Dr Veronica was invited to speak to a group of students from Melbourne University recently, the students learned basic ultrasound techniques and applied that new knowledge by practising on some machines provided by Chris at BCF.
It was a fantastic day to teach the next group of young veterinarians.

This morning we had an ergonomics in the workplace presentation by Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Jennifer Smallridge from 💎 Jen helped create awareness around how we can stay physically well while at work, and tailored some stretches and advice for our road and admin teams who all have unique roles! Thank you Jen for getting us up and moving 🤸‍♀️

Our echocardiograms can now be complemented by electrocardiogram service.
An ECG interpretation may be helpful for patients presenting with an audible arrhythmia, abnormally high or low heart rate, or investigation of clinical signs such as weakness or collapse.

We are super excited to welcome Tammy, our newest vet to join the Soundiagnosis team! She is an experienced sonographer with extensive background in emergency care. She is currently training in echocardiograms and you will soon see her at your clinic performing abdominal ultrasounds.

You may have heard a new voice on the other end of the phone recently. Introducing our new Receptionist, Carla!
Carla joins us with over 12 years clinical experience, she has many pets at home including 2 dogs (Mia pictured above), 1 cat and her horse Ty 🐴 Carla loves spending time outdoors with her family and all her animals. Sound is very excited to welcome her onto the team, and Carla looks forward to speaking to you all soon!

Dr Sarah joined the Soundiagnosis team this year and is currently training and learning lots with every scan! She gets more confident with the help of our team, and our wonderful patients. It takes a lot of time to be able to correctly assess each organ for a full abdominal scan. We are so impressed with all her hard work, go Sarah! We said farewell to one of our OG staff members this week who has been with Sound for 10 years! Dr Priscilla was the first Vet to join founder Dr Veronica, she has created beautiful memories with all staff new and old. She has brought smiles, laughter and joy everywhere she goes and we know she will thrive in the next chapter of her veterinary career!

Continuous education is an important part of working at Soundiagnosis, and recently we had a brilliant presentation by one of own vets, Dr Christine! She taught us about electrocardiograms (ECGs) and their importance when dealing with heart murmurs and arrythmia.

This is very useful in conjunction with the echocardiograms we perform! 🩺

An echocardiogram is a scan of the heart which shows us the valves and structure of the heart. This can help us determine if medication may be required to help the heart function properly. ❤️
