When in rescue we fight all day and night. This is Giggles. She was found under a car only hours old. Sadly, the litter of four were picked up and taken to the vet.
This meant their poor mum had her babies taken from her and we have been their mum. Bottle feeding is an extremely hard task. Round the clock feeding and 50% chance of survival.
I know when you see a litter without a mum, a humans instinct is to step in thinking they are abandoned. The reality, mum is collecting food and could even be watching you. She is not going to approach while your near her babies or hiding close by. To her, you are danger.
If you see a litter, call for a rescue’s advice.

In this case, it was most likely mum’s birthing spot was disturbed but humans or something else, she moved her litter under the car for shelter from rain or sun. She may have been searching for a new location or moving one at a time. Imagine coming back and your babies are gone…….

Giggles and her litter have fought cat flu, fleas, worms and ringworm. Their lives have been tough. One of their siblings has already lost her life and grew her wings when she started fading.

A massive shout out and thank you to ARC Companion Animal Donation for their recent support with a donation of litter, filling the car to the brim. This donation is truly amazing and definitely helps our rescue in more than one way 🤣 All these bottoms are grateful too.

ADOPTION DAY UPDATE:

Wow, wow, wow! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Yesterday was truly amazing and was a day of non stop interaction and adoptions. Thank you to the Best Friends staff who lended a hand to help with set up and the amazing crew of volunteers who filtered in and out during the day!

🏡Our babies who flew the coop: Tinsel, Jingles, Cookie, Blissey and Luxio 💕

🥰 Our babies who are now pre adopted and waiting on their vet work: Teddy, Alfie, Fluffy and Gonzo. Additionally, our little Skitty was placed on hold so that her new family could prepare and shop for her arrival.

I cannot express the need for successful Adoption Days like these. With numerous amounts of surrenders and saves coming in daily, the pressure and worry to secure forever homes weighs heavily.

Thank you to everyone who supports FurKids Rescue. We are a dedicated group of passionate people based on respect, devotion, commitment and community spirt.

Together we can make a positive difference in this world.

Mr social butterfly is always the first one up and ready to pounce on his siblings. He loves to play and is happy for cuddles when he's got his energy out.

Alfie (no collar, male)
Alfie is full of energy and quite the ninja warrior with his parkour moves. He's definitely the one in charge out of all his siblings. He loves his food and loves a long nap. Once he is comfortable he loves a belly rub.

Tribal was the biggest boy out of all his siblings. He settled in pretty quickly, and would come up for pets shortly after meeting his foster humans.
He’s very curious and confident, which helped bring his shy sister out of her shell.
