Because of the lack of opportunity for city kelpies and border collies to herd sheep they will exercise their instincts by rounding up other dogs in the park or your children or cat at home. In our training sessions in the Melbourne suburb of Kilsyth what we aim to do is to bring out the natural herding instinct in your dogs and to teach them to herd sheep to you. By doing this you are actually te

aching your dog to work with you as a team and you will find it much easier to train your dog in other sports other than sheep herding.

Look at what I found in my paddock. Looks like Santa has lost one of his reindeer. From my family to yours I would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

The reindeer are arriving. It must be close to Xmas.

How is this for a natural cast?

Christmas vouchers are still available.

At Beloka working festival. Saturday was quite a miserable wet day but at night we enjoyed a roast lamb dinner in Paul's shed warmed by an open wood fire and some beverages.

It was a little bit muddy in the round yard at Beloka this Saturday.

Lucy did a good job completing the duck trial by penning them although she found it a bit challenging at times when the ducks hugged the fence line.

It was miserable weather at the 28th Beloka working dog festival but it did not deter the city slickers from having a go.

Kelpie Training

At Lancefield yard dog trial. It's hard work moving the sheep through the race but a kelpie never gives up.

At the Lancefield yard dog trial, a beautiful example of a kelpie moving the sheep into the forcing yard. The dog had the sheep covered all of the way.
