Dog Manners weekly group class, every month we go outside our school, having a real life class.
This month we went for a walk along the river at Maribyrnong.
Teaching our dogs how to cope with runners, bikes, kids, other dogs and anything else that occurs.
Like the lovely Doberman who was practicing being off lead, but when he saw our group, he totally forgot how to recall and came over. We quickly grabbed him and returned him to the owner, along with my business card. π€£π€£π€£

Odin, you big beautiful boy.
Starting with private in home due to his fear aggressive responses to dogs and into group classes.
Look how far you have come!!!
It also seems that Odin and Jayden are starting a bro-mance!

Finley & Willow had their second session today.
Wow, what a difference.!
I could enter and talk to the family so peacefully, without all that barking.
We have much better language, so we are working on them walking and not reacting to other dogs. We even managed to have a small walk together with Duplo.
Great work family!!!
Nala, almost 1, German Shepherd.
Dog Manners was called as Nala gets nervous and barks at visitors, jumps on all the family, barks & jumps on the back door, jumps and play bites on the young son and just will not listen.
In the video Nala doesn't bark at me straight away, she even comes over and has a smell, but then gets nervous, the hackles come up and she starts to bark.
Getting communication working was the first step. The family & Nala need to understand the same message, then Nala needs to learn to listen and be guided.
What a wonderful start, the whole family was training and committed to help Nala be better.
She is a lovely girl that has not understood how rude and pushy she is being. She could have a better life with less stress and be included more and that's the goal.
We started with basic sir and bed command, where she learnt to understand and listen. Then it about stopping jumping, both the door and people, moving to her listening off lead.
Well done great start.

Bobby you have come so far.
From reactive, anxious and always tense, to being excited when your mum asked you to do a 'stand'.
Look at that tail wag.

Dog Manners celebrated our Xmas break up for 2024.
Starting with picnic training.
Obedience, manners, boundaries - they all matter.
Well someone wasn't happy with us playing ball in this paddock.
Meet Hux, Am-staff x, 2yr old.
Dog Manners was called to help Hux listen more at home, and his reactivity to specific dogs and bikes, especially motorbikes.
Mum and Hux learnt the method really quickly, so when we started looking at listening in the home Hux nailed it. Mum couldn't stop saying 'i don't believe it' while shaking her head.
We challenged Hux not to go through the doorway boundary, even if the front door is opened.
Great work!!!
