Andy, 5yrs, Ollie, 3yrs - Italian Greyhounds.

We had our second session with these cuties, there family has been practising at home, so today we went outside to the scary world.

Bikes, prams and scooters are monsters and other dogs coming by get a clear reaction of stay away from me. This causes a very anxious walk for everyone.

We used a wheelie bin, had a scooter and bike ride past, Lego & Duplo assisted, as well as pedestrians walking by. Teaching the owners what to watch for, how to interact and get their boys to listen, taking control of the situation and slowly gaining trust and confidence.

It was wonderful to see everyone slowly relax, with Andy & Ollie having much less stress in the situations. We even managed to get a drop near my dogs, well done boys!

The family was so happy to have clear communication to help Andy & Ollie and seeing how they improved so quickly. With the homework and practise to do every day I am sure things will just get better and better.

All the best boys!!!

Bella, 8yr old Cavoodle.
Oh, Bella is beautiful and is the joy of Jen and helps her in many ways.
Though Bella does a lot of things right, there is a couple of things that she really needed to improve. Having a good mutual language with Bella to let her know when she is not behaving as she should.

Bella does tend to overreact to family coming home, being quite disruptive and over the top. As well as every so often she thinks she needs to protect Jen a little too much when they are out and has a touch of selective hearing.

But poor Jen, hasn't been able to watch 'Muster Dogs' due to Bella's reaction to dogs on the tv.

We worked on all of this issues and made great strides.
The family were really wonderful in getting back into where they needed to be, with Bella getting wonderful pats and lots of love, while helping Jen through her day.

Meet Nala, only 4 months old, Whippet x Kelpie.

We first met Nala at only 10 weeks old and how she has grown. I wonder if she will grow into those ears though. πŸ˜‚

She was very shy with Lego on our first visit, but this visit she was actually overconfident and a bit rude, jumping up and being very pushy. Nala has also started to learn that if she just continues doing whatever she wants, for the most part thats ok.

Today we taught her that isn't the case, she must listen to her family so she will have a safe and long life. Zoomies over the furniture is not acceptable and chasing and jumping on the kids is also not allowed.

She is a smart little girl and learnt lots, with the family all there practising her sit, drop and walking on lead. She was very tired at the end, going into a nice sunny spot for a sleep.

Wishing you well Nala, you have a loving wonderful family to grow with.

We met Athena, Border Collie puppy.

She is adorable, but a litle shy. Her dad had a puppy information session with us to get a great language with her and be able to guide her behaviour.

Athena is doing very well, except for the part about chewing on her dads feet when he is walking. Not unusual for a working dog puppy, but not something that we should allow either, and was sending dad a little nuts!

Athena was very shy in meeting Lego and took her time to build some confidence. This also isn't unusual, but it is really important to make sure her interactions with other dogs is helping her build her confidence, but not get pushy and rude either. Lego was wonderful, staying in a drop and letting Athena come over slowly with lots of praise for being brave. She was very worn out at the end and found a spot to have a snooze.

All the best Athena. 🐾❀🐾

⭐️ Jodie & Ziggy

Luna, an anxious 2 yr old white Shepherd was adopted by Hulya late last year and the trust and relationship they have built is amazing.

Lenny, black Lab and Ziggy, Wiredhaired pointer x, are both 10 months old and growing up to be lovely family dogs. Though they can be a little naughty sometimes. 🀣

Looking forward to seeing you in Great Dog class.
Well done!!!

Ollie, 5 yrs and Andy, 3 yrs, Italian Greyhounds.

These guys are individuals, Ollie is confident, pushy and protective. While Andy is anxious and shows separation anxiety, and they are fast!
Zoomies around the home, over the couch and the dining table are very funny to watch, but not so much to live with.

What a great first session we had, mutual language, random contrast training, and everyone started to work together as a team, with the dogs actually listening.

It seems Andy doesn't like to get on the bed if Ollie is already there, but will happily sleep with him if Ollie gets into a bed with him already there. So we helped get over this little idiosyncrasy, even though he looked a little unsure about it, Ollie didn't even care.

Ollie showed us he has a difinite attitude about listening and doing what is asked, so we worked though asking and getting a sit. Good job Ollie, he found he got heaps of pats and appreciation when he listened.

The family did really well in the lesson, they have homework to practise over the next 2 weeks, including ways to help Andy in his separation anxiety.
Can't wait to see how they have improved.

Nova, Staffy 5 months old.

I think vets have the hardest job, sometimes wonderful and sometimes heartbreaking, with a fair bit of complaints and abuse along the way.

But I do disagree with some of them when they overwhelm and scare clients. They may not mean to, but it happens and the puppy can suffer.

Such is the case with Nova. Her dad listened to his vet, and all the bad things that will happen if you take your dog out until after all the vaccinations. At 5 months old she has been socialy stunted, not getting in all the things needed before that 12-16 week crutial time.

Dog Manners was called as Nova, as soon as you picked up a lead or put one on, she would freeze and not move. Lay down and shut down, even in the backyard. She did not want to leave the home and noises are a little overwhelming.

Dad was amazed that I could come in and interact with Nova straight away, patting and putting equipment on her without Nova going into shut down.

We worked slowly with Nova, showing dad how to interact and help Nova understand she could trust her dad, all would be good.

Nova was exhausted at the end of the lesson and took a well deserved rest and tummy rub.

Beautiful girl, all will be well, can't wait to see you next visit.

Molly, 13 month Labrador.

My goodness Molly is over the top friendly, with no manners at all!
As I came in, mum had trouble holding her, Molly is very strong and doesn't mind using her strength, jumping on me continuously, along with mouthing me at the same time.

The poor cat has been confined to other parts of the house as Molly loves the cat a little to much, chasing and wanting to play. Actually, a bit of a bully.

These are the main things in the home the family would like to get some control over.
Molly really needed to find some impulse control and find those manners.

She learnt our mutual language, listening to mum & dad, staying on her bed and we even got an off lead boundary on the back sliding door.

The family was left with the homework sheet to track their practise, I can't wait to see Molly's progress.

She is gorgeous and started to show the wonderful dog she can be.
See you soon Molly.

Harley, 4yr old Jack Russell Terrior.

In Harley's mind he is the boss and he loved to bark at anyone passing by, jumping at the window with some force too. He wasn't too keen on listening to his mum either.

Harley is doing fine now, getting lots of pats and cuddles now that he is listening to his mum, even staying quiet when asked and no more jumping on the window!

Lego, Duplo and I loved working with this lovely family.
Keep up the good work!

Pepper had her second session, and mum and dad are very happy with how her barking has improved at home.
We went outside and practiced our nice walking on lead with Lego going past and she did very well, after a little practise.
Pepper also learnt a drop, we needed to work through Pepper's reluctance, but when she understood Pepper nailed it. Dad admitted they had never been able to teach her a drop previously. And then we added the stay - what a good girl.
Taking the time to take a photo during our practice.
It is wonderful when the family tell you they are really happy with the improvement in Pepper's listening, it has made the house much less stressful for them.

Keep it up Pepper and family.
