🐮 11 years of Geoffrey 🐮

For those of you who have visited our Gisborne clinic - you would have met or seen our special boy Geoffrey.

Geoffrey’s mum passed away when he was only two days old, so we bottle fed him and he relocated to live his life at our farm.

🐾 Gorgeous Uraia - releasing tension through her spine 🐾

Uraia enjoyed her holiday break so much, that she has pulled up with a sore back after a few collisions with her canine bestie.

Uraia slept (and snored) through her treatment where we massaged, used red light therapy and applied gentle stretch techniques to relieve muscular tightness through her spine and whole body 💕

🐾 It was so lovely having Archie visit us recently for his treatment - he made himself right at home and as per usual, relaxed right into his session 🐾

Archie has been a regular patient of ours for many years at Zali’s Run - the Greyhound Playground, but he has relocated closer to us now and visits us in Gisborne.

We eased away some minor aches and pains so Archie can continue living his best, comfortable life 💕

🐾 Meet sweet Joey, a 13 year old whippet 🐾

Joey visits us every six weeks for maintenance treatments, to ensure he is functioning at his optimum through his senior years.

His younger brother, Maurice, the borzoi, also receives treatments to release occasional spinal tension.

Both boys enjoy the relaxing benefits after each session, along with improved mobility and comfort 💕

🐾 Meet beautiful Boss 🐾

Boss is a 14 year old Labrador, who we are treating for arthritis and hindleg weakness.

Boss enjoyed his first session where we combined massage, red light therapy and gentle stretching to ease his aches and pains.

As Boss is overweight, we have also recommended changes to his diet for weight loss.

Weight loss in overweight, arthritic dogs is very important in reducing stress on joints, slowing the progression of the disease, improving mobility and reducing pain 💕

🐓 Two of our most recent additions 🐓

Meet Shaggy and Lucia 💕

Shaggy was attacking the younger hens in her previous home and Lucia has been crowing like a rooster so could no longer live in the suburbs.

Both girls have settled in nicely to our sanctuary, although rooster George is not impressed with Lucia and her crowing

🐾 Treatment time for Leo, to manage hip dysplasia

Leo is a beautiful 8 year old border collie, who benefits from monthly physical rehabilitation treatments and red light therapy to conservatively manage his hip dysplasia.

Hip dysplasia is a deformity of the hip that occurs during growth; where the hip joint and the socket joint do not grow uniformly resulting in looseness of the joint. This then typically results in osteoarthritis, which is the body’s attempt to stabilise the loose hip joint.

Leo’s physical rehabilitation sessions including therapeutic exercise are highly effective at managing and improving his quality of life alongside daily walks and nutritional supplementation ❤️

And Benjie cat is always there taking advantage of photobomb opportunities.. love them both 😂

I have been involved with Axle’s rehabilitation and he has since gained lots of strength with our prescribed exercises, hill walks and hydrotherapy.

We visit Mousse monthly and as well as being extremely relaxed during and following his session; he is always feeling much better - moving more comfortably and freely ❤️

🐾 Handsome Bijou - our first patient for the year

Bijou has had a very busy start to the year with 30 kilometres of walking within 5 days.. what a super trooper!

Bijou enjoyed his treatment where we worked on relaxing his tense muscles to relieve soreness and stiffness.

We look forward to hearing about Bijou’s adventures on our next visit 💕

When I am off duty, I am often helping out the beautiful hoofed creatures.

George is a week old and his mumma has not been producing enough milk; so he requires two bottle feeds a day to keep him healthy and well 💕

🎄 Spreading the ‘Christmas Cheer’ - our final two days 🎄

Wishing all our valued clients a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year! 🧑‍🎄

We will be having a short break and returning to an exciting new year of treatments on January 6th, 2025.

This is the last day of our ‘Christmas Cheer’ project and we have loved every moment of joy that it has brought to our patients and their owners.

Once again a huge Thankyou to Lyn from Happy Paws Training Treats for her generosity of donations of treats and other goodies.

It was a hit and we will continue with this theme next December 💕

Lilly and Lennie are much loved members of our little farm sanctuary. They arrived earlier in the year and have settled in very well, very much part of the family. Lilly and Lennie are the best of friends and were both born as triplets to different mums. They were abandoned by their mothers. My amazing cousin took them in from the local farmers and bottle fed them for many months.
