Our team's goal is to mentally challenge and stimulate your dog, to promote desirable behaviour and to have FUN! Our team of qualified trainers complete a behavioural assessment on all dogs on arrival. If a dog isn’t suitable for daycare, we also offer training and socialisation classes, which may facilitate getting your dog into daycare in the near future. Once th

e behavioural assessment has been completed your dog will be introduced to the group. We have several designated areas for dogs of varying temperament, size and energy levels. Our Dog Daycare is suitable for both high and low energy dogs. Our team of qualified dog trainers love nothing more than building confidence in shy dogs or challenging high energy dogs with a range of socialisation activities, exercise sessions and brain games. You will have a very satisfied dog at the end of the day. Please ensure that your dog’s C5 vaccination is up to date and bring a copy of your certificate with you on your first visit. Worming and flea treatment should also be up to date. Dogs older than 6 months must be desexed.

This is a private lesson package, carefully developed to assist with these behavioural issues. Your trainer does have access to dogs which can be used in these sessions.

A private lesson format is the best option for these cases, as it provides a more careful mechanism to introduce dogs and to start the counter conditioning process, leading to real results.

Once working through the private lesson package you will be far better equipped to join a class.

Meet Kaya the Finnish Lapphund, enjoying the best of eat scritches from Tamryn.

As we move into winter proper and enjoy the cold snap, Kaya’s owners have told us that this is her favourite season and that she can frequently found outside enjoying the crisp morning air, when everyone else around her is bundled up and breathing steam. 😂

Which is not surprising, as the Finnish Lapphund hails from, you guessed it, Finland! Bred to herd reindeer in the Arctic Circle, the Finnish Lapphund is well known as a friendly, kind, and companionable dog who has a sweet face and the fluffiest of coats.

EXPOSURE - BRUSHING

Today we are brushing our dogs during our exposure session to help conditioning them for grooming - both at home and in the salon.

We do not want our dogs first experience with brushing to be at the groomers. Early conditioning work at home can greatly assist in reducing stress and make their early experiences around going to the groomers and being brushed at home a more positive experience overall.

We recommend brushing and conducting similar handling exercises on a regular basis to assist not just your groomer but also to make the experience of brushing your dog easier.

Scooter: For today’s exposure sessions, we have introduced a Scooter to the dog’s environment. Some dogs may instinctively want to chase a scooter, and for others, the sound may elicit fear. The reason for this session is to assist you on your daily walks by exposing our dogs to common sights of movement and sounds. For the purpose of this exercise today, we want to see a neutral response - a dog that doesn’t care for the scooter, but also isn’t worried about it. Exposing your dogs to everyday stimulus is beneficial and should be an ongoing project throughout their whole life.
