Environmental enrichment for our furry friends is so important for their mental health and happiness! Providing our pets with things to smell, see, hear, chew on and climb helps stimulate their minds and avoid boredom. We recommend a variety of toys, treat puzzles, scratching posts, beds in different places, windows to look out of, and even some household items like cardboard boxes. If your pet seems bored or is displaying destructive behaviors, check out different enrichment options to keep them engaged both physically and mentally. A few minutes of your time setting up new enrichment activities for your pet can provide hours of enjoyment and really improve their quality of life!

Bee stings can be painful for pets, causing swelling, redness and itching at the sting site. If your pet is stung, remain calm and call your veterinarian right away for advice. Signs that medical attention is needed immediately include difficulty breathing, widespread swelling, collapsing or loss of consciousness. To prevent further stings, carefully brush away any visible bees from your pet's fur and move them inside. Monitor your pet closely for any changes and be aware of symptoms for the next few hours. Getting timely veterinary care can prevent serious allergic reactions and complications from bee stings in pets.

Our furry friend Harry is back on his paws again! After a recovering from surgery at MASH and continuing his rehabilitation at Canine Hydro, Harry is on his way to a full recovery. He came in with being diagnosed with IVDD, but our dedicated vet team got to work assessing the injury. Between physical therapy sessions and medication to manage the pain, our little patient showed so much resilience and determination. He has now regained full mobility in his leg and is raring to go. A true success story! Our heartfelt thanks to all the staff who helped our four legged friend heal and put a wag back in his tail πŸΆπŸŽ‰πŸΎ. Canine Hydro Melbourne Animal Specialist Hospital
