Interesting article. Opportunity in the aged care, disability and in home care sector for business people

"We expect all our franchisees and their staff members to be professional and committed to making a difference in the life of those they provide services to." Angela Feery-Richards, Founder and Director of Simply Helping

With the roll out of the NDIS in recent years, combined with media reports and the Royal Commission into aged care in Australia, more and more people are looking for in-home care service providers to meet their needs.

Interest in Simply Helping, a franchised in-home care provider, has been growing steadily over the last few years. The company has experienced a lot of growth in both regional and metropolitan areas and a steady expansion across Australia.

I remember thinking, ‘Wow, this is craft beer’,” says Amila, who moved around the corner from Mountain Goat while working as a banker in 2010.

Danny’s background, on the other hand, is in hospitality; indeed, his interest in craft beer was sparked while working as a cook at Little Creatures’ former Brunswick Street outpost.

Curiosities piqued, the next step was for Danny and Amila to begin exploring Melbourne’s many breweries, which snowballed into a decision to have a go at making their own beer. The Crafty Pint

For Danny Perera and Amila Mendis, co-owners of Two Rupees Brewing Co, the grand opening of their tap room was a few years in the making. It was back in 2013 that the childhood friends first decided to have a crack at homebrewing, but their story stretches back even further, back to when – indepe...

India has been Australia’s biggest source of migrants since 2016.

While 33,310 places of 162,417 permanent places in 2017-18 were granted to Indian citizens, 38,854 visas of 183,608 places went to Indian citizens in 2016-17.

The number of Indian students studying in Australia too ascended to a seven-year high in 2018. According to November 2017 figures, close to 70,000 students were studying in Australian universities and colleges.

After England and China, India ranks third on the list of residents born overseas according to the latest figures by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Stay safe

Stop what you're doing – read this and SHARE.

Here are ten things to note about the extreme weather we're going to face:

1. More rain may fall over the next few days than it usually does in one whole season.

2. Just because it's not bushfire, don't presume it's fine. Flash flooding is extremely destructive and deadly.

3. Obviously, transport may be affected during or after major rainfall. Plan ahead and pay attention.

4. Do. Not. Ever. Drive. Through. Flood. Waters.

5. Go back and read point 4 again a few more times.

6. Never allow children to play in floodwater. This is the main cause of death for young people during floods.

7. There is also a risk of fire and lightning strikes across the state.

8. Visit www.emergency.vic.gov.au/respond for more information and advice about the circumstances in your local area.

9. The number for the SES is 132 500. Their website is www.ses.vic.gov.au – and there is some very useful information on the 'floodsafe' section of that site.

10. If you are in a flood-prone area, consider making arrangements for your pets now. If you are forced to leave them behind, it will be heartbreaking.

This is a serious event.

We're not mucking around here.

My family – both in Melbourne and in Wangaratta – are taking every precaution. And so should yours.

Stay safe.
