Lily & Bella
My name is Gemma and I’m one of those people who will interrupt the conversation to point out a dog.
I wanted my business to have homage to my beautiful childhood girls; Lily and Bella, which is why Little Big Grooming was just a perfect fit. L for Lily being a little girl and B for Bella because she was big. We sadly lost Lily in June 2017 and Bella in November 2018 both from cancer but neither suffered and both had the perfect last days surrounded by all their loving family. Although they’re gone, Lily and Bella still live on through me, through my tattoo of them on my arm, and now this business.
Like many, I didn't have a clue about what career I wanted to pursue while growing up. That was until I was lucky enough to get a job as a dog bather in a salon and suddenly I enjoyed working! I woke up on work days excited to meet the new friendly faces and to see the regulars, all of whom would get endless pats while being bathed.
That’s when my problem began..
I was OBSESSED with dogs!!
I interrupt conversations, every dog on the street I just have to pat and my Facebook feed is full with dog videos, my partner is so used to it he now points out random dogs in view if i've missed them. I believe dogs do nothing but bring absolute joy to our human lives which is why grooming is a perfect job for me.
I now have 2 German Shorthaired Pointers, Denver and Willow and man are they a hand-full! My favourite evening activity is taking those ratbags to the dog park so when we got Denver in 2017 I had the perfect idea of creating the Cranbourne Dog Play Date group on Facebook. It’s a group dedicated to socialising dogs and meeting new people.
The world wouldn't be as great today if it wasn't for our 4 legged friends, hug them everyday, spoil them everyday and most importantly cherish every second you get with them.
