A Message from Dr Hootan Shah to all our lovely and loyal clients:
I am so excited to introduce our two new amazing Veterinary Surgeons to you all beautiful clients/Fur parents! I have been waiting and searching for such a long time to find the best vets that can add value , consistency to our practice and to deliver more treatment options based on current /evidence based science to our precious patients! I have been searching hard to make sure all the Vets here at Mitcham Pet Hospital will share the same vision, are all on the same page and will be a part of our kind and compassionate family on a permanent basis and with consistency! This means you always see the same vets who treat your vet with same attitude, best standards of care and whether you see me or my associate vets you will be sure you + your fur-babies are in the best hands and always will receive the same top quality of care mixed, spiced with some love , compassion and devotion!
"Dr Mei Chan” graduated from the University of Melbourne and has practised in Melbourne, Singapore, Perth and is now back in Melbourne with Mitcham Pet Hospital. She has a vast experience and deep knowledge of different veterinary fields from emergency and critical care to medicine and surgery! I should admit that Dr Mei has more years of experience than me and I have a lot to learn from her! Her solid and long term background in different veterinary fields is something priceless for our practice and our patients!
She is compassionate, caring and endeavours to make vet visits stress free and enjoyable for you and your pets. Anyone of our clients who has seen her already made lovely comments about her and were extremely impressed!
At the moment , She is working on a Permanent part time basis on Wednesdays, Thursdays and every second Saturdays. We truly hope to have her as a full time colleague in future! She cannot wait to see you all soon!"
Dr Klare Ho,
Born in Malaysia and growing up in Melbourne, Klare has always been enthralled by the concept of the human-animal bond. She completed her undergraduate degree in a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (BBiomedSc) at Monash University before studying the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at the University of Melbourne. After seven long years of schooling, she graduated in 2022. Since then, Klare has undergone further training in surgery, medical oncology, anaesthesia and emergency medicine by completing a rotating internship at highly respected and reputable; “Southpaws Specialist Surgery for Animals” . While being there she has been exposed to challenging cases and learned to practice gold standard veterinary medicine. When a veterinarian studies an extra year in a specialist centre as an intern , they will get exposed to very rare, complicated and various cases, they will learn cutting edge and very advanced knowledge of all aspects of the Veterinary field from Medicine, surgery and Oncology to emergency , critical care and imaging from the best specialists and experts of these fields!
Dr Klare will have a lot to teach me and her other colleagues and can refresh our knowledge on those area that is dusty and rusty !
Klare is dedicated to providing the best care for your family member and will be their healthcare advocate from the moment they arrive at Mitcham Pet Hospital. She looks forward to being there on your pet’s journey from sharing your excitement during their first puppy vaccinations all the way to exercising her empathy when preserving their quality of life during their last peaceful years. Outside of her busy work schedule, she tries to find time for her hobbies such as baking and exploring Melbourne’s food culture. Dr Klare is working on a full time basis with us at Mitcham Pet Hospital.
We are a team that share the same vision and prioritise the best care for our clients and their Fur-Babies ! We are a team of veterinarians who compliment and balance each other by combination of current and very up to date knowledge with years of experience and solid skills! We are here for you as ONE team, we share our cases, discuss all the issues between us and make decisions with the same standards of care with consistency. You will experience always the same quality no matter which vet you see!
My Kindest Regards,
Dr Hootan Shah
