Out for a hike today with Aunty and cousin Poppy 🐾💚 Bluey Mac is growing into such a great little pup - soaking up all the lessons on how to be a big girl from Poppy.

Fun fact: dogs don’t just learn from us humans - they learn a TON from each other too! Watching and copying older dogs is one of the fastest ways puppies pick up good manners (and the occasional cheeky trick 😉).

This was 2019! When and I had our fun YouTube channel and podcast.. We spoke to handlers all over the world and showed amazing dogs work to find odour in all kinds of places! The two stars of the show have now left us to cross the rainbow bridge.. in May.. Ayla said goodbye and today only a couple of months later, her buddy Mattis has gone to meet her. I hope they get to have a dog off ‘in person/in dog’ .. I never met Mattis in person but through all days and thereafter I felt like I got to know Mattis so well. Both Mark and Mattis became a big part of my life that ill always appreciate.. Farewell big guy! Thanks for all the good times.. I’ll make sure Mark behaves from afar.. ❤️ To Mark and your beautiful family, I’m sorry for your loss. Sending big hugs across the pond!

You’ve brought new energy, little paws full of mischief, and a heart full of love into a space that’s still healing.

Losing Ayla was so unexpected and devastating for us. She was such a beautiful girl — loyal, hard working and had so many cuddles and licks to give. Her absence is felt in so many ways.

But now is a new chapter and a new Muddy Pawz adventure, Our little girl Bluey — not here to replace Ayla, but to join the family she helped shape.

We’re so glad you’re here.

Let’s talk DOG!! ** Smell Direction: The split also enables dogs to smell in stereo. Each nostril functions independently, which helps them detect the direction of a scent. If a scent enters one nostril stronger than the other, the dog knows which way to move to track the source of the odour more accurately.

Let’s talk DOG! **Inhalation and Exhalation Through Separate Channels: When a dog sniffs, air enters through the front of the nostrils, and a portion of this air goes to a specialised region of the nose (the olfactory region), where scent particles are analysed. However, the slits on the sides of their nostrils allow them to exhale without disturbing the scent in front of them. This means they can continuously sniff without pushing the scent away.
