Below has been written by the owner of Kobe and Shaq

It is with a heavy heart that we are looking to rehome our two incredible male Bengal cats, Kobe (5 years old) and Shaq (3 years old), due to our upcoming move overseas. They are both very much loved members of our family, and this decision has been incredibly difficult.

About Kobe & Shaq:
Kobe and Shaq are a bonded pair who have grown up together and are inseparable. They both walk on a harness and love spending time outdoors in their secure enclosure, where they feel safe and can explore.

Kobe is the cuddly one, always seeking attention and affection. He is on daily medication to help manage his anxiety, and he will need to continue this treatment in his new home.
Shaq is more independent but has a playful and loving nature. He enjoys games and will bring joy to anyone who loves interactive play.

Both are fully vet-checked and vaccinated. Their health is up-to-date, and their medical papers will be provided to their new family. They are fed Royal Canin Indoor Cat dry food and wet food every night, which they absolutely love.

What Weโ€™re Looking For
We are seeking a loving and responsible home for Kobe and Shaq where they can continue to receive the love, care, and attention they deserve. Ideally, their new family will have a secure outdoor space for them to enjoy, as they are both accustomed to spending time outdoors in a safe environment.

Both of the boys have been around children, and Kobe has been around dogs before. I'm not sure if Shaq would like to share his space with a dog or other cats.

This is a very difficult decision, and we want to make sure they go to a home where they will be happy and well cared for. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting these two wonderful cats, please reach out.

Thank you for understanding and helping us give them the best possible future

Did you know cats can suffer from arthritis pain?

Arthritis is a painful joint disease that nearly up to 40% of cats will experience in their lifetime. This can affect their everyday movements, such as going up stairs or jumping up onto the bed.
It is important to take notice of this behaviour as it could be a sign of arthritis; which unfortunately cannot be cured.
However, there is hope for your furry friend. Our team of vets are dedicated to ensuring your cat has access to treatment that will improve their quality of life, by keeping arthritis pain at bay.

๐ŸšจNever leave your pet in the car this summer! ๐Ÿšจ

It only takes a few minutes for the car to heat up as hot as an oven and cause sudden hyperthermia and death.
Even on a cool day or with the windows open, pets should never be left inside your car.

โ˜€๏ธHeat stressโ˜€๏ธ
It is important to be able to detect the early signs of heat stress to prevent deadly heatstroke. Panting, noisy breathing, bright red or bluish gums, drooling, diarrhea, or vomiting are common signs of overheating.

Keep your pet cool this summer by:
๐Ÿพ Keeping them in indoors
๐Ÿพ Adding water bowls both indoors and outdoors and changing out the water every day
๐Ÿพ Creating wading pools outdoors for pets to cool their paws
๐Ÿพ Placing wet cool towels on the ground for them to sit on
๐Ÿพ Offering ice block treats

If you suspect your pet is suffering from heat stress, it is vital to contact your closest emergency veterinary centre.

New Year's Eve can be a particularly challenging time for pets, especially those with noise phobias. The loud noises from fireworks and the sudden bursts of activity can trigger intense fear responses, leading to behaviors like attempting to escape, self-harm, or causing damage in an attempt to get away from the noise.

Here are some tips to help manage noise phobias:
๐Ÿ’ฅ A dedicated, quiet, safe room or crate with shut blinds and lights out
๐Ÿ’ฅ Music or white noise
๐Ÿ’ฅ Creating a hiding spot
๐Ÿ’ฅ Thunder shirt (a safe, drug-free solution for anxiety)
๐Ÿ’ฅ Rewarding your pet for good, relaxed behaviour
๐Ÿ’ฅ Pheromone collars, plug in's or supplements
๐Ÿ’ฅ Using low levels of recordings of fireworks or thunderstorms etc while playing with your dog to desensitise them to the sounds

Did you know glow sticks are poisonous to pets?

Glow sticks can be harmful to pets, especially cats. The liquid inside glow sticks contains chemicals like dibutyl phthalate, which can cause symptoms such as drooling, irritation in the mouth and throat, vomiting, and even more severe reactions if ingested in larger amounts.
Cats, being naturally curious and often attracted to bright colors, might be drawn to the glow sticks, which is why it's important to keep them safely out of reach.

If a pet does manage to bite into a glow stick or ingest the liquid, it's crucial to contact a vet. Prompt treatment can help prevent more serious issues.
