Excessive itching or licking can be signs of skin allergies and/or a skin infection. With spring time here there is more pollen in the air, and just like us humans that suffer from hay fever, dogs can develop skin allergies from the environment that causes them to itch and lick themselves. Luckily for us there are a few treatments out there to help soothe your pets skin and help them through spring time.
If your dog is itching and/or licking themselves more then normal, please call the clinic on 03 9707 3855 or visit our website to book in a consultation.

Look at these fresh set of teeth! This pup definitely woke up feeling like a different
dog!
This dog came in with a very uncomfortable and smelly mouth, and was also
having trouble biting his kibble. Under further examination a couple of teeth had to be taken out as they were causing this pup pain. Wobbly teeth can cause a lot of pain and
discomfort in dogs when trying to eat.
If youโve noticed your pets breath isnโt smelling the best, donโt hesitate to consult
with our Vets to discuss a dental! ๐พ๐ฑ

There are many causes for this to happen, the most common is grass allergies, and now we are in spring the pollen is heightened in the environment. ๐พ๐ป

This here is a Grade 1 Dental which is a โScale and Polishโ. Dentals are an anaesthetic procedure which allows us to examine your pets teeth to then plan if any
extractions are needed, and if all teeth and gums are looking healthy. This dog here only had plaque built up which is easy to remove!

Dental disease in dogs and cats is a common, yet often overlooked health issue that can significantly impact their overall well-being. It primarily arises from the accumulation of plaque and tartar on the teeth, leading to periodontal disease, which affects the gums and supporting structures of the teeth. Signs of dental disease may include bad breath, difficulty eating, swollen gums, and tooth loss. If left untreated, it can result in pain, infections, and even systemic health problems affecting the heart, liver, and kidneys. Regular dental check-ups, proper oral hygiene, and a balanced diet can help prevent dental disease, ensuring a healthier and happier life for your fur babies๐ชฅ๐พ
