A great number of obstacles get us off track from our objective (being in tune with the flow of life):
- Distraction due to the automatic activity of thought.
- Projections.
- References to the past.
- The discrepancy between what we desire and what we are living.
- The contradictions existing between our life and our beliefs.
- The feelings of our original sin and our unworthiness.
- The desire to modify the tenor of reality.
- The desire to be present only to pleasure and to obscure all suffering, tension, anxiety, and our needs.
- The desire to modify the duration of some elements of reality.
Our difficulty in being present comes principally from the fact that we do not accept reality as it is because we see neither its beauty nor it's depth. We wrongly imagine that life as we reorchestrate it is more worthy of being lived. Hence we lose considerable energy wanting to transform reality so that it corresponds to our plans, ideals and beliefs. Unfortunately, reality is not made to conform itself to our desires...Many people confuse sentimental projection with love...The only love that can satisfy us is the love that can arise from within us when all projections cease. At this moment no one can cut us of from the source of consciousness.
