Holidays are about having a break from the routine of life. The word 'holiday' originates from 'holy day', a day when we can become whole. Every day can be a holiday if you find what you are truly passionate about. Doing your passions provides purpose and fulfilment.

still (stillness)
adjective
not moving or making a sound
• undisturbed by wind, sound, or current; calm and tranquil
noun
[ mass noun ] deep silence and calm; stillness
verb
make or become still; quieten
The Oxford Dictionary
In our busy lives we hardly have a moment for stillness. The radio alarm comes on in the morning, filling the quiet. The tasks of the day and busyness of life are on our mind filling the calm with many thoughts. Then at the end of the day we are tired so we collapse with a good book or in front of the TV or jump on our digital devices. (more information and noise to fill the calm)

Stillness is a worthwhile practice to include in your day. Even just for 10 minutes, stopping and being still will calm the chaos in your mind and body. Practice stillness each day for a week and see if you notice a difference.

Choosing Change:
Change is happening, change is inevitable. Choosing to change starts with intention. However, intention does not mean you achieve outcomes. Only action brings about change you desire. Action is more efficient when some planning has been done. But plans without implementation are just ideas. Choose the change you desire, write a plan, strategy or 'To Do' list, then start. Once you have done the first thing on the list, you have moved from intention to action and are already moving toward your goal of change.

An interesting article about critical thinking. Another step towards self-awareness, self-empowerment and resilience.

There is nothing more practical than sound thinking. No matter what your circumstance or goals, no matter where you are, or what problems you face, you are better off if your thinking is skilled. As a manager, leader, employee, citizen, lover, friend, parent — in every realm and situation of your li…

Part of awareness and mindfulness is knowing that you have choices in your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. The observer within us can notice what is happening within and around us. We can choose to be still, attentive and mindful.

Many of our beliefs and values are worth keeping. Others are not.
Beliefs and Values:
When examining your inner self, it's important to look at beliefs and values.

Some beliefs and values are old and unnecessary, and can be a barrier to achieving our goals and doing our dreams.
Our beliefs and values are the solid foundations for our thinking, emotions and behaviour. It is useful to reflect on your beliefs and values to examine underlying assumptions and question their legitimacy. If we have beliefs and values that are stopping us from fulfilling our potential or reaching our goals, it would be useful to let them go.
We tend to hold on to old beliefs and values, even when they are destructive to our life, until we choose, or are forced, to change them.
- Geoff Best

Smash the Sky had a wonderful time at the open day for Aquila Acres Farm Stay & Equine Therapy, learning all about horse therapy and meeting heaps of great people.
Looking forward to working together and developing community while we use the services and facilities in our programs. :)

If there was such a thing as a CEO of horses then Rafferty would be it. Every horse has it's own unique character and in this case, Rafferty's Rules seems to be applicable!

A great number of obstacles get us off track from our objective (being in tune with the flow of life):

- Distraction due to the automatic activity of thought.
- Projections.
- References to the past.
- The discrepancy between what we desire and what we are living.
- The contradictions existing between our life and our beliefs.
- The feelings of our original sin and our unworthiness.
- The desire to modify the tenor of reality.
- The desire to be present only to pleasure and to obscure all suffering, tension, anxiety, and our needs.
- The desire to modify the duration of some elements of reality.

Our difficulty in being present comes principally from the fact that we do not accept reality as it is because we see neither its beauty nor it's depth. We wrongly imagine that life as we reorchestrate it is more worthy of being lived. Hence we lose considerable energy wanting to transform reality so that it corresponds to our plans, ideals and beliefs. Unfortunately, reality is not made to conform itself to our desires...Many people confuse sentimental projection with love...The only love that can satisfy us is the love that can arise from within us when all projections cease. At this moment no one can cut us of from the source of consciousness.
