136000 horses accompanied troops into war during WW1. One came home.
Considering this, let's extend 'LEST WE FORGET' to include all the brave animals that lost their lives during the war they served so bravely in, but knew not why: the horses, messenger pigeons, dogs, donkeys, ponies and camels by wearing the traditional purple poppy in memory of them.
Without the animals and their unconditional support, things would have been very different on many levels, I am sure.
May God bless them all - as well as all the courageous men and women - like my wife Trudy's brave grandfather, Bob, who fought alongside many who were no older than my own kids, and countess others who died defending our beautiful country. We acknowledge you.
Lest We Forget 💜❤
