nutritional advice for optimal health and to help treat many health conditions; we offer titer testing before vaccinations; we try to reduce parasite preventative medications being applied to your pet; we treat and manage anxiety and fear in pets and approach our patients in a way to reduce their fear in the clinic. 🌟 Meet Lenny! 🌟

Lenny is an 8-year-old Cattle Dog cross who recently underwent a cutting-edge treatment for a mast cell tumour using Stelfonta. 🐾✨

Stelfonta is a localized treatment designed specifically for non-metastatic mast cell tumours. When injected directly into the tumour, it works by targeting and destroying the mast cells, breaking down the tumour without the need for surgical removal. This innovative treatment minimizes recovery time and offers a less invasive option for eligible patients. 🙌💉

So far, Lenny’s treatment is progressing beautifully, and we’re so proud of how well this gorgeous girl is handling her care. 💙 With continued monitoring, we’re optimistic about a great outcome for her.

Mast cell tumours are one of the most common skin cancers in dogs. If you notice any unusual lumps or bumps on your pet, it’s always best to get them checked out. Don't wait, book a check up appointment ASAP, early detection is the key to successful treatment.

✨ Sassy Update! ✨

Look who's back and doing amazing—our beautiful girl, Sassy! 🐾💙 She came in for her 10-week post-TPLO check-up, and we’re thrilled to report that her bone healing is right on track! 🙌

She's moving well, putting good weight on her leg, and showing no signs of discomfort. A big win for this brave girl! 💪🐶

Sassy’s journey has been all about patience, love, and resilience, and we’re so happy to see her getting back to her usual self. Keep up the great work, Sassy! 🎉

🚨 Duchey’s Dramatic Afternoon 🚨

After a midday walk, Duchey started sneezing... and didn’t stop. By the time she had a couple of nosebleeds, her parents knew something wasn’t right. They wasted no time and brought her straight to us (A+ parenting, right there!). 🐶❤️

It turns out a bunch of grass seeds had decided her nose was the perfect hiding spot. 🌾 Luckily, Dr. Hollie was on hand to sort things out, carefully removing the seeds and giving Duchey some much-needed relief.

This is such a great example of why trusting your instincts as a pet parent is so important. If something doesn’t seem right, it’s always better to get it checked out—and in Duchey’s case, quick action made all the difference. 💕

She’s now back on track and probably dreaming of her next (grass-free) adventure. Big thanks to her family for being so attentive and to Dr. Hollie for her steady hands and expertise! 🐶✨

This gorgeous little lady was in for her desexing this week, and oh my goodness, she completely stole our hearts! 😻 Charli was an absolute dream to care for—so smoochie, affectionate, and full of personality. 💕

She charmed everyone at the clinic with her big, soulful eyes and the sweetest purrs. We couldn't resist sneaking in a few extra cuddles (strictly for professional purposes, of course! 😉).

🎉 Meet Peppa! 🎉

This gorgeous girl turned 10 in October and recently came in for her Annual Health Exam, blood work, and a Vaccicheck test. 🩺✨ Amazingly, her last vaccine at 1 year old is still providing protection – what a star! 🌟

Peppa’s pearly whites are also shining bright thanks to nightly brushing and a diet that includes chicken frames. 🦷🐶 Great job, Peppa (and Maggie)! Here's to many more happy, healthy years! 💕

🚨 Important Update: Bird Flu Risks for Cats & Raw Feeding 🚨

A virulent strain of bird flu (H5N1) has been causing illness and sudden death in cats in the US and parts of Europe. While this virus hasn't reached Australia yet, there’s a real possibility it could arrive via migratory birds. Here’s what you need to know to keep your cat safe:

🦠 The Risk:
H5N1 strain can be present in contaminated raw poultry products.
It’s been linked to neurological symptoms and sudden death in infected cats.

🔥 The Solution:
Cooking poultry to an internal temperature of 74°C kills the virus, making it safe to feed.
Feeding raw red meat diets (AAFCO balanced) is also a safe option.

🐾 What You Should Do Now:
1️⃣ If your cat is on a raw poultry diet, start offering alternative foods now to avoid abrupt changes later.
2️⃣ Gradually introduce cooked poultry diets or raw red meat diets into their meals.
3️⃣ Build variety in your cat’s diet to ensure they’ll accept different foods if we need to stop feeding raw poultry.

👉 Preparing your cat now helps avoid the stress of sudden dietary changes if this virus arrives in Australia.

✨ Meet Custard! ✨

This gorgeous girl came in to have an eyelid lump removed, and she melted all our hearts while she was here. 💖 With her sweet nature and wagging tail, Custard quickly became the star of the clinic, winning over all our nurses (and probably sneaking in a few extra cuddles). 🐾

We’re happy to share that her procedure went smoothly, and she’s on the road to recovery. Get well soon, Custard – we can’t wait to see your smiling face again! 🐶💕

🐾 Meet Millie! 🐾

This sweet girl came to see us on December 4th for her TPLO surgery, and yesterday, she stopped by for her post-op check. We’re thrilled to report that Millie is doing AMAZING! 🎉

She’s now walking pain-free and loving life again 🐕‍🦺💚. Her owners couldn’t be happier with her recovery, and honestly, neither could we! Millie has been such a champ throughout her journey. A quick reminder to all pet parents: if your dog starts limping, don’t wait too long to get it checked out. Early intervention can make a world of difference in their recovery and comfort! 💡🐶

A big thank you to Millie’s family for trusting us with her care. Seeing her back on her paws and thriving is what it’s all about! ❤️

🎆 Keeping Your Pup Calm This New Year’s Eve 🐶🎉

Fireworks might be fun for us, but for our furry friends, Not so much. If your dog isn’t a fan of loud noises, don’t worry, we’ve got some simple tips to help them (and you!) have a more peaceful night.

🌟 Set up their safe space
Think of it as their little New Year’s Eve retreat! A cozy corner with their bed, some toys, and maybe one of your old t-shirts can work wonders.

🎵 Turn up the tunes
Play some calming / classical music or turning on the TV to help drown out the booms outside.

🧩 Keep them busy
Distract them with their favorite chew, a puzzle toy, or even a frozen LickiMat (yum!).

💗 Stay chill yourself
Dogs are like emotional sponges—they pick up on how you’re feeling. If you’re relaxed, they’re more likely to feel calm too.

🦮 Get the zoomies out early
Take them for a nice walk before the fireworks start. A tired pup is a happy (and hopefully sleepy) pup.

🚫 No outdoor time tonight
Don’t leave your dog in the outside, even if it’s fenced. The fear of fireworks can make even the best behaved dogs try to escape.

🏡 Leave them at home
If you’re heading out to celebrate, keep your dog inside at home where they feel safe and familiar. Taking them with you could increase their stress, especially in unfamiliar environments.

The best way to ring in the New Year is knowing your pup feels safe and loved. Here’s to a calm and happy New Year’s Eve for everyone—two-legged and four! 🎉🐾

🐾 Meet Dorsy! 🐾

This stunning girl came in to the clinic last month for X-rays, which required further referral to a medical specialist 🩺✨While Dorsy was under anesthesia for her X-rays, our team took the opportunity to carefully assess her teeth.

This is how we discovered Dorsy had dental disease. With her owner’s approval, we promptly proceeded with a dental procedure to address it and now her teeth are shining as bright as her personality! ✨🐾It’s so much easier to check a pet’s dental health while they’re under anesthesia -there’s no stress for them, and it allows us to get a thorough look at their teeth and gums. 🪥🐶

Remember, dental disease can sneak up on our furry friends, often going unnoticed until it causes discomfort. If your pet hasn’t had a dental check recently, it’s worth booking one soon. A healthy smile equals a happy pet! ❤️

🐾 Puppy Progress Update! 🐾

It’s hard to believe it’s been a month since Winnie’s adorable litter of 5 puppies stole our hearts! 🐶✨ These four boys and one little girl are growing fast and doing incredibly well.

Last week, they made a grand appearance at the clinic in their cozy wagon - looking fluffier and more curious than ever! Some even found a comfy spot under the chairs for a quick snooze (because being this cute is exhausting!), while others melted our hearts with their playful energy. 💛🐾

We’re so thrilled to see how far they’ve come and can’t wait to watch them continue to grow into confident, happy dogs.
