🐾 Introducing our newest arrivals at the clinic! 🐶✨

Winnie, the superstar mum, welcomed 5 adorable puppies (4 boys and 1 girl) early last Sunday morning - starting at 3am! 🕒 Claire, who heads up our fantastic puppy school, was right there, cheering her on (and missing out on a bit of sleep in the process). 💤

These pups are off to a great start and are already in the best hands! With Claire guiding their early socialization, they’re sure to become confident, well-adjusted dogs. 🐕💛

Peaceful goodbyes are part of the journey that we, as veterinary teams, assist with almost every day. We have the skills and training to ensure that this final farewell is as gentle and celebratory as possible. We take pride in being able to help pet owners say goodbye with dignity and peace. It’s a part of what we do.

Yet, sometimes these moments affect us deeply too. This week, the Bentons Road Vet team had to say goodbye to some truly special souls, and we are grieving alongside their families.

When an unexpected goodbye happens, it can be devastating not only for the owners but also for our entire team. We are hurting this week. For those of you that have lost this week, our hearts go out to you. We’re thinking of you with love and compassion.

Meet Bodhi, a gentle Whippet who came to see us last week for some important care. Bodhi had some lumps that needed to be removed and he also needed his teeth cleaned. 🩺🦷

He was calm, patient, and gave us his signature puppy eyes—an absolute pleasure to look after! We’re thrilled with how well he did and can’t wait to see him back on his feet, feeling fresher than ever.

Here’s to a speedy recovery, Bodhi—we’ll see you soon, buddy! 🐶💙

Meet Cookie, the sweetest chocolate Labrador, who came in for a special nutrition consult! 💖

Recently, Cookie was diagnosed with copper storage hepatopathy, 🩺 a condition where her liver can't process copper effectively. Her devoted owner wanted to avoid the standard prescription dry food and opted for a wholefood approach instead. 🌱🍗

So, we crafted a personalized, low-copper, high-zinc diet tailored just for Cookie, using natural, wholesome ingredients. 🍲✨ This diet not only supports her liver health but also keeps her enjoying the fresh, tasty meals she loves.

Nutrition is such a crucial part of managing chronic conditions, and we’re here to help every step of the way. If you’re looking for a bespoke, wholefood-based diet for your pet, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s work together to keep our furry friends thriving! 🐶❤️

Sara, the sweet 13yr old Labrador came to see us with a nagging cough. We wanted to get to the root of the problem to help her feel better. X-rays were our go-to tool, allowing us to see inside her chest and uncover what might be causing her symptoms. 📸

The x-rays showed evidence of infection, giving us the answers we needed to start her on antibiotics and begin her journey to recovery. X-rays are such an important step, as they allow us to diagnose accurately, rule out underlying pathology and tailor treatment specifically to each pet’s needs.

Thanks to this clear picture, Sara is now getting the care she needs to breathe easy again. 💙 And, as always, she enjoyed some well-deserved relaxation with a treat filled Kong, in recovery. 🐾

🌸 Welcome, Bonnie! 🌸

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of meeting Bonnie, the adorable new pup of Jess, Mark, Molly, and Pat. It was a bittersweet moment, as we fondly remember their previous dog, Monty, who was so deeply loved and cherished. 💕

Bonnie has big paw prints to fill, and while she can never replace Monty, it’s heartwarming to see the beginning of this new journey. We’re thrilled to be part of Bonnie’s story, ensuring she lives a healthy, happy life filled with love. Here’s to many wonderful years ahead! 🐾💖

💙🐾 Puppy love alert! 🐾 💙

Look at these two adorable little ones - just 6 days old! They came in for their very first health check and to start on the right paw with advice about a fresh food diet. We're already planning ways to help them avoid the dental issues their mum, Phoebe, faced. Starting with good nutrition now can make a world of difference down the line! 🥕🥩

Phoebe is one proud mum, and she's doing an amazing job nurturing these precious pups. We’re so excited to support her and these cuties as they grow. Here’s to strong, healthy starts and plenty of puppy cuddles! 🐶💙

👻 Happy Halloween from all of us! 🎃

Your dog may have some great TRICKS, but we hope they stay out of the TREATS this Halloween! 🍬

While the spooky season is fun for the kids, 🧟 those Halloween goodies can be quite dangerous for your furry friends. 🍫 Chocolate, in particular, is toxic to dogs, and the darker the chocolate, the SCARIER the risk! ⚠️

Keep an eye out for these signs if your dog happens to sneak some chocolate:

🌕 Vomiting 🤢
🌕 Diarrhea 💩
🌕 Rapid heartbeat 💓
🌕 Hyperactivity
🌕 Tremors
🌕 Seizures
🌕 In severe cases, even death

If you suspect your dog has eaten any Halloween chocolates, please contact us or the emergency center right away. Having details like the type of chocolate and how much was consumed will help us act quickly. If your pup has ingested a toxic dose, they may need immediate treatment to remove the chocolates from their system.

Let's all enjoy the Halloween fun safely🦇 - remember to keep those treats out of paw’s reach! 🎃 Have a fang-tastic day and keep your pets safe! 🐶

Belle was getting some love and comfort from our nurse Ash before heading in for her spey procedure earlier this month. 🐾❤️ It’s always nice to see our patients relaxed and in good hands, especially before surgery.

Moments like this remind us how much a little extra care can help put pets at ease. Belle was certainly soaking up the attention - who could blame her with that cozy cuddle? 😍

🐾 Say hello to Artie, our courageous little patient! 🐾

Last week, Artie took a tumble from his bed, leaving him unable to walk due to a painful paw. After a thorough examination and x-rays, we discovered Artie had fractured his metacarpal bones. 🦴

Take a look at Artie's x-ray! 📸 Can you spot the fractures? 🧐 Hint: There's 4 of them.

Given the complexity of the injury, we referred Artie for specialist orthopedic surgery, ensuring he received the highest level of care for a successful recovery. The surgery was a success, with all fractures carefully repaired, giving Artie the best chance for a full and speedy recovery. 💙

Artie is now resting comfortably and following a strict recovery plan, which includes plenty of rest and limited movement to help those tiny bones heal properly. 💤 It’s a big job for such a small paw, but Artie is being a real trooper!

Here’s a follow-up for all the Labrador puppy lovers! 🐾 After their fun visit to the clinic, we received some more adorable snaps of these pups at home, and we just had to share! 📸

As you can see, these little ones continue to live their best lives, whether they’re snoozing together 💤 or exploring the outdoors. 🐶🌿 Raised on a raw food diet and destined for raw-feeding homes, these healthy and growing pups are clearly loving life. 💚

Thanks to their mum, Fia, for raising such a healthy bunch! It’s been great to see them doing so well, and we know they’ll be keeping their new families on their toes in no time! 🏡✨

💖This is the lovely Abby! 🐾 She came in earlier this month for her spey procedure and was such a sweet girl to look after. Wrapped up in her cozy blanket, she was definitely the picture of calm and comfort. How cute does she look relaxing before her surgery? 🥰🛏️

Meet Cooper 🐾, our sweet clinic visitor who occasionally feels a bit anxious during his visits. But thanks to his incredibly thoughtful mum, Cooper always comes prepared! 🧡 To help ease his nerves, she brings along a frozen LickiMat filled with nutritious goodies like yoghurt, banana, blueberries, and cucumber. This clever distraction helps Cooper stay calm and makes his time at the clinic a much smoother experience. 🍌🫐🥒

Don’t you just love the way Cooper’s mum looks after him with such thoughtfulness? 🐶💙

Cooper’s mum is also the brains behind Cooper and Kids, a wonderful business dedicated to fostering positive, safe relationships between babies, kids, and dogs at home. 🐶👶 If you’re a family with kids and a dog (or are planning to introduce a dog into your home), you can learn more about how Cooper and Kids can support you at every phase of your journey.

To lighten the mood, a little animal humour for you.

Two dogs, a German Shepherd, a Doberman and a cat, all died and went to Heaven. In Heaven, all three faced God who wanted to know what they believed in.

The German Shepherd said, “I believe in discipline, training and loyalty to my master.” “Good” said God, “sit at my right side.”

“Doberman, what do you believe in?” asked God. The Doberman answered, “I believe in love, care and protection of my master.” “Aha!” said God, “you may sit at my left side.”

Then God looked at the cat, and asked, “And what do you believe in?” The cat replied, “I believe you are sitting in my seat.”

🦠Did you know your pet’s gut health could be the key to their happiness? 🐶

Last Month, Oslo underwent a special procedure called FMT (F***l Microbiota Transplant) to help give his gut health a big boost. By introducing a mix of healthy bacteria directly into his digestive system, we're aiming to restore balance and support his overall wellbeing. 🌱🐶

Gut health doesn’t just affect digestion—it impacts energy levels, immune function, and so much more. That’s why we’re excited to help Oslo take this important step toward a healthier, happier life. 🩺❤️

Curious if your own pet could benefit from a gut health boost? Give us a call or drop by the clinic - we’d love to chat with you about how we can help! 🏥📞

🐾 This week, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming a litter of adorable, Labrador puppies into the clinic for their vaccinations, along with their proud mum, Fia! 🐶💉 These little cuties are being raised on a raw food diet and will be heading to raw-feeding homes soon. We’re thrilled to report that all pups are healthy, robust, and growing beautifully!

As you can see, their clinic visit was so exciting that they ran out of batteries halfway through and just crashed right on the floor! 😂💤 It's hard work being this cute! Be sure to check out these sweet snaps of their nap time - clearly, a full belly and a clean bill of health make for some very sleepy puppies! 💚
