As the weather continues to warm up, it is important to make sure our beloved fur-babies are also kept nice and cool during the summer months ahead, as they too can suffer heat stroke and exhaustion just like us! ๐ฅตโ๏ธ
Signs of heat stroke include:
- excessive panting, discoloured gums and mobility issues like collapsing and trouble with getting comfortable. Please seek veterinary attention urgently if you are concerned your pet is showing these signs.
It is best to walk your pet during the early hours of the morning or later in the evening when the temperature has cooled down - if you cannot hold your hand on the ground/asphalt for 5 seconds or longer, then it is too hot for your fur-babies paws.
Please do not leave your pets in the car, even if it is in the shade and with a window cracked, the temperatures inside can most certainly still become lethal.
Provide lots of shade and fresh water if your pet is unable to be inside with you. ๐
Please do not hesitate in calling the clinic on 9727 4004 if you have any concerns about your pet in the warmer weather.

How clever is this boy! ๐คฉ
The gorgeous โAndyโ visited us during the week for a sore ear check.
We were super impressed with his eagerness to hop up on to the table for his examination!
What a funny pooch ๐๐ผ๐๐
Fist pump! ๐ค๐ผ๐
This handsome man โStarfruitโ belongs to one of our vets, Apple.
Apple and her husband have been working on this new trick with Starfruit for a while now by using treats and determination. How awesome is this! What a smart guy! ๐๐ฑ

Lovely to see this underweight, but otherwise healthy little Noisy Miner enjoy a meal of mealworms thanks to the wonderful care of Tony at Babbajin Wildlife Park! Belonging to the honeyeater family, these native birds are highly territorial - you may have seen groups of them at Lillydale Lake scolding you as you walk past. Thankfully this little guy will most likely be released once he builds up his strength. Go well Noisy Miner!!!
Our nurse Liz had a lot of fun playing "dead" with one of our biggest patients this afternoon... an irreplaceable 10 month old Newfoundland puppy Bentley! Waiting room entertainment at its best! What a cutie!
Apparently Hugo also loves his doggy family members! Thanks for keeping him entertained Ollie :)
Just too cute not to share..... Enjoy your week everyone!
