Benson
Today we got to work with this little cutie, 8 week old Bernese Mountain Dog Benson. Some walking on lead work, sit and lots more. This not so little man and owner Nikki did so well. Next step Puppy Classes 🐾
Teaching Zola new Tasks
Trainer Naomi teaching return Board & Train participant Zola new tricks…putting away her own toys!
Fun with the Advanced Class at Albert Park Lake today on a very windy/grey day. 10 points goes to Sara with Hathor the Doberman who didn’t give up and kept reinforcing what Hathor needed to do even though Hathor being over excited by all the running and team cheers!! Obedience class done differently and heaps of fun🤣🐾
Gorgeous 17 week old Benny enjoying the sun on one of his Walk & Train Sessions this week. We have started our long line recall work and the little man did not disappoint!

This is Poppy (10 Mth Labrador) who will be handed back to her owners on Monday after successfully completing a 2 Week Board & Train Program, proofing her stays outside a busy Coles in Port Melbourne. When we started with Poppy, she couldn’t sit still for a minute without jumping all over everyone let alone hold a down stay with so much distraction as she is now. Well done our little superstar Poppy and our trainer Naomi who has done such a wonderful job with this beautiful girl.
Yesterday’s terrible weather meant classes were cancelled at Albert Park Lake. This didn’t stop Blue and Mum getting out for some long distance recall work.
Arthur and his parents are expecting their first baby in May 2022. After completing their Expectant Parents Preparation Lesson, owners have set to work with desensitising/conditioning him to a baby crying with playing a recording. Luckily Arthur isn’t fussed or stress about the baby crying, only getting up when his Dad went into the kitchen in the hope of a treat!! 🤣👍

When we met the Zampella Family and their German Shepherd Puppy Jessie, they could barely hang onto Jessie and walking her was hard work, stressful and out of control. A Private Lesson was held to get some foundation work in and the family enrolled her into our Basic Obedience Course. Four weeks into their course and Melbourne goes into lockdown. But this family have kept up a lot of work during the lockdown and look at their beautiful girl now. Walking at heel, loose lead/social walking, all whilst being handled by the kids in the family! This is what can be achieved when people put in the work, don’t give up and are dedicated to their dog. We are so proud of how far you have come with Jessie in such a short time and can’t wait to see where you can take her as you continue your journey. These are the moments we live for as Dog Trainers and validates all our hard work, thank you guys!!!
7 Month old Pomeranian Misha has been staying with us at The Pets Hotel over the past two weeks attending an intense Obedience Programe to teach him the basics and address the issue of him losing his mind and barking at people, dogs and basically anything that moved, which can be a common trait of this breed.
To say he has “nailed it” is an understatement especially when you see from some of his proofing exercises with holding a stay outside the local supermarket with people coming/going, automatic doors operating behind him and dogs all around. He even held his stays at the local park when a French Bulldog gate crashed our filming of his stays!!
This little guy has won everyone’s hearts and it will be hard to hand him back to his Mum tomorrow, but we couldn’t be prouder of his achievements and growth with his socialisation. Well done little man!!
Thursday’s Double Trouble Dalmatian Duo Ace and C.J. have become best mates whilst attending Doggy Daycare at The Pets Hotel as part of their training & socialisation programme. They are such great mates and have been doing so well with all their training that they now go out for a group Walk and Train Session together on Thursdays with our Instructor Naomi. These Dali’s have come a long way from where we first started work with them. Well done boys!!
Classes at both our training grounds have been cancelled today due to this! See you all next week.
For those of you who were wondering why Sue and her Instructor’s Assistant Jasper weren’t at classes last Sunday, it was because they were learning something new and trying their hand at herding classes. Not bad for a first go Jasper but apparently he needs to learn slow down....good luck with that Sue 😂
