There are people who say 'it's just a cat', or 'it's just a dog', or can't understand how you can grieve for a pet, how their loss can be so immense and change you.They don't understand that for nearly every day-in my case-for 19 years, that you have seen, cuddled, fed, spoken to, interacted, and shared your highs and lows with that animal-often more than the humans in your life-and then it's suddenly gone.19 years.l was 37 when l first got Mary.l am now 56.l know my clients on here, get it.You are my people.
RIP my beloved Mary.

Little Meow is a big supporter of keeping our cats indoors.
Whilst they love the fresh air, sunshine, and the ability to still behave occasionally like the wild spirits they are-the dangers they can encounter when roaming free-dog attack, car accidents, animal cruelty, etc-are often not worth the risk.
Of course it also benefits our wildlife-very hard to stem those natural hunting instincts of our beloved felines and unfortunately our beautiful wildlife are the ones that suffer.

Little Meow HIGHLY recommends attaching a cat run/play area to your home.These can be fixed permanently or temporarily, and the benefits are huge.
Cats LOVE them and they keep them safe, whilst helping with litter odour and fur accumulation in your home.
A carpenter or handy person is all it takes-and a little imagination.
They can be quite a lovely feature to your yard or sideway.
Pick cat friendly plants (a post about these coming up soon), some fake grass mats (good ol' Bunnings!), hammock beds, a covered litter tray and a bit of colour-and they can look great!
Access can be from a window or well placed catdoor.
A door so can you pop in there comfortably to clean, is highly recommended too.

Footpath/carpark works are about to start out the front of Little Meow Cattery.
I have been assured the noisiest time will be Monday night for several hours, with jack hammering.
Thereafter should be ok (over 4 nights to start).
I will do my best to keep all p***y-cats calm and settled.
Looks like l'm sleeping in the Cattery Monday night!😁

Dear Clients.
As Little Meow Cattery enters it's 7th year of operation, there will be a few changes.

As of February 1st 2023, Little Meow Cattery will be closed for pickups and dropoffs on Sundays.
(With the exception of Sunday 24th December,2023).

Opening hours will also be changing (please see below) -with an appointment time no longer needed (excluding visits to inspect the cattery).
Between these hours, phone calls will still be taken however.

Apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Mon to Fri: 9am-11am /3pm-6pm

Sat : 9am-11am /3pm-5pm

This is Lola.
When Lola (Aka Lolly), was a tiny kitten,someone put her in a red Australia Post letterbox.
After she was thankfully rescued from there,she came to live with me.Lola was a complicated,complex p***y cat. She was incredibly loving,but could also be a bit crazy sometimes.She was not a huge fan of other adult cats-but in my many years working in the Vet industry, and handrearing dozens of dumped kittens over the years, Lola-surprisingly- was an amazing surrogate Mum to them.Washing them,cuddling them,teaching them how to be a cat.l would bottle feed a kitten,and then hand them to her.She was such an exceptional girl.Lola passed away on Thursday night.lt was sudden and unexpected and my heart may never mend.Fifteen years of my beloved Letterbox baby girl now over.

lt was a pleasure having you in my life.❤

Little Meow Cattery will soon be experiencing the wrath of the roadworks in Montmorency-in the middle of the School holidays, one of our busiest times! The roadworkers have spoken to us and are graciously going to try their best to minimise any upset, and Little Meow will do our best to lessen the noise created and help anyone who has difficulty parking or carrying/bringing their p***y cats in.
Dropoff and pickup times will be effected,so we all might need to be as flexible as possible.We will keep communication constant,and hopefully will get through a difficult time unscathed😀
