Had so much fun last Sunday at Pet Show Dog Grooming Competition model dog live comp. Was also lucky enough to pull out a first place, with the incredible talented daughter Ash hot on my heels securing second place in this class.

** The Model Dog Live competition was a lot tougher than it may have looked. The transformations were Amazing! Some of the models were a little tough to stack for photos though :P

Jumping out of my skin with pride and excitement to share the excitement. I have qualified for the Dogs Australia National Grooming Team this opportunity will see me competing overseas this year in team and individual classes.
I would like to say a massive thank you to May Wong and Dogs Australia Canine Grooming for this placement and the organisation of these qualifying comps and making this team possible.

Sydney Royal Grooming Competition April 2nd 2024
2nd place in level A poodle class with my toy poodle Dragon I’m so proud to have improved so much on this trim in the last year. Still more improvements to make in perfecting this trim you never stop learning.
Dragon was repared in Hyponics shampoo.

Sydney Royal Grooming Comps 2/4/24
Placed 2nd with my Asian Fusion model dog entry.
Asian Fusion is a cutesy styling developed in Asia the short body and fluffy legs allows dogs to wear clothing under the short coat without getting matted but still has the fluffy look that is the appeal of a long coated breed. The faces are styled to look happy and cartoon like making them “cute”.

3rd place with my creative model dog entry. I turned a modified model dog into a cobra in a basket being wooed by a snake charmer.

Sydney Royal grooming comps 2024
My hand strip level A entry with V***n the PBGV we placed 7th from a class of 10 so many talented groomers at this competition. Prepared in Hyponic shampoos.

Beautiful little Carys is a 4 mth old Bedlington terrier. I’m excited to have the privilege of being her groomer, I will be working with her to develop my skills on the breed so she will join me in the competition ring once she is old enough.

Absolutely so proud to be ranking no 6 up with this set of brilliant groomers. Gotta work hard at the Sydney Royal grooming comp to see if I can climb the ladder a little higher.

This is the current leaders for AGS pointscore. It's great to see so many groomers doing so well.

December is busy in the grooming world as with many industries so what did I do? Add a grooming competition to my schedule 😅
Delayed post, on December 10th I attended a grooming competition at Dog Vic’s big day out for dogs.
Thank you to the judges and organisers for putting it together. I’m proud to have come home with 2 third placings at the advance level.
I entered terriers with my first time grooming a basset fauve de bretagne this girl had been a long time since she had been stripped so I was very lucky and relieved to find she had some coat underneath all that dead hair Tiffany was super nervous but I was so proud of how she handled the spotlight and she worked with me beautifully seeing we had only meet each other an hour before we went in the ring. 💕
Then in the afternoon it was Master Dragons turn this was his third time in the ring, he’s doing so well for a young fella.

Boasting a big win last weekend at the Groomfinity grooming competition last weekend at the Dandy show. Placing first in advanced pure breed section with Daphne the English cocker spaniel then going on to win best in show.
Thank you so much to the judges for admiring the beautiful Daphne and my groom on her. Thank you to Daphne’s mum for letting her join me for the day in comp and bringing her in for her maintenance grooms between. Thank you to the organisers for putting together a sweet calm and friendly comp and to the sponsors for your generous prize packs and ribbons.

I cannot express how super proud I was to be standing in the best in show line up for the Groomfinity competition next to my daughter Ash. It’s a huge moment for me mixing my love for my children with my love for grooming. I know it won’t be long and I’ll be congratulating her as the overall winner. ☺️🥰

Congratulations to my oldest daughter Ash on her first place win with an Asian fusion groom on Pearl the toy poodle at the Groomfinity grooming competition at the Dandy show last weekend. This groom put her into the best in show line up where she narrowly missing out on a placement by a couple of hairs. Brilliant effort on a fabulous groom.

Franklin’s parents had been caring for his coat for 12 months they had done such a beautiful job that he could stay nice and long as they like him. But I was allowed to make a big transformation for his feet. Not quite a breed trim but just how his own wets love him.

Dragon at the Melbourne Royal Grooming comps 2/10/23. Working our way up we came 4th this time 2 places higher then our 6th at Sydney Royal.
I’ll keep working to improve this groom thanks for helpful feedback.

Hand stripping is known as a specialist technique that is not offered by all groomers. It is time consuming and can be hard to estimate how long the process will take, these two hadn’t been stripped in 4.5 months I’m so proud to have team worked these two with the very talented Makayla who has been learning hand stripping from me for the last year she has a great eye and passion for the skill.

Developing skills and applying them to different breeds. I competed in competition on a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier many year’s ago, it’s not a breed trim we see often in the salon to practice. So yesterday I went to a workshop with breeder, shower and groomer of Soft coated Wheatens Sarah from Shaneca Soft Coated Wheatens and AnimalMad Dog Grooming. It was a great morning working on the beautiful Hazel turning her from a fluffy bear into breed styling. Thanks Sarah and Hazel.
