Muddy is also working on some foundations of lateral work and doing very well. He is starting to understand the leg aids and is able to stay soft and willing. Such a lovely young horse!

Muddy is progressing very nicely undersaddle. He carries himself so nicely in the trot, and the canter is coming along now also- he hadn’t been cantered undersaddle before coming to us and would get anxious/ exuberant in the canter in the groundwork!

He is now cantering willingly and is figuring out the balance and rhythm.

Priscilla doing a lovely job as always! ☺️

Tess is a bit rushy in canter still but her improvement overall is significant! She is much less anxious undersaddle and is no longer backing up as she would do when unsure or lacking confidence to go forward.

Tess is finding relaxation undersaddle now and is able to travel at walk and trot with her head low and relaxed, still working on canter as she rushes a bit still but getting so much better.

A lovely trail ride with my husband this morning on our personal horses! Doesn’t happen often but we will try to make it a more regular thing now to get our horses fit but also enjoy the time together and out in our beautiful backyard! ❤️

Poke did super for how little she’s been out of an arena! Very brave and bold. I was on Smokey (my old faithful best Brumby ever!) so I just got to enjoy the ride while he got some much needed exercise! 🐳 he’s a bit like a land whale at the moment! Trying to keep his weight down with diet restrictions and now increased exercise.

What a lovely morning before it got very hot and so so windy! Better than 13 and hail though so I’m happy about the warmth! ☀️☀️☀️

Welcome Koda! A lovely Gypsy cob gelding here to be started.

So proud of these two!! Helen had her first canter on Troubadour today!! 🥳🤠🐴

Helen purchased Trouby- my favourite Highland Pony ❤️ as a young unstarted 2 (? I think) year old, and I went to her place weekly for quite a while to help with groundwork and preparing him to come to me to be started when he was old enough. I started him and I’ve cantered him plenty, and he’s been back for two extra stints of training since being started. I also have continued going weekly for lessons (where weather has allowed and with some set backs of Trouby’s health at times!)

In our weekly lessons Helen rides and then generally I would get on and do some more trot and canter work to keep him ticking along with it. Helen has done so much great work with him on the ground and ridden getting his lateral work established and it’s so clear to see in his work now as he can sidepass, step hindquarters and shoulders around, leg yield, back and back turns, and we’ve started on counter bend exercises also.

Today Helen was able to reap the rewards of her hard work and felt confident and balanced enough to have a little canter up the hill.
This is a great achievement for them to now progress further together and soon they will be out trail riding and trotting and cantering all over the place!

Well done Helen and well done Trouby for always being a good safe boy.
