Arti wearing the roller for the first time. This was by the end of the session when he relaxed and could go forward again after an initial reaction and then doing more work to help him relax and go forward without the roller then with it on again.
Good giant baby stallion ❤️🐴
Arti, Shire Colt, session 1 with me assessing what he knows and how he responds to the flag and being asked to do things. Gold Star to him and his owners for doing great preparation work with him as he wasn’t worried about anything I asked of him. 🐴⭐️🤠
And I did measure him after this and he’s only 16hh haha so we over estimated a little 😝
Loved the big yawns and let down at the end, he’s a lovely boy!
Rupert (Morgan X Arab) working a lot more relaxed in the long reins today.
Before we started him 2 years ago for his owner he already had a pretty set in concern about ropes around his back legs. We made some progress with him on that back then but it is still something he doesn’t love!
Priscilla has been working on it each day a little bit in between the other groundwork and he is now able to accept and relax with the two long reins.
This process was lots of work with the lead rope, then a single long rein, and working up to the double long reins.
Today as you see here he was able to find some relaxation while moving forward and feeling the ropes and not reacting. 🐴⭐️
Oliver the Arab looking so much happier and more settled and now able to be ridden calmly instead of being anxious and worried about where the other horses are all the time.
Oliver showing huge releases today! Such a good change for this fella 🥰🐴
Oliver showing how he is now able to focus on the person rather than worry about the other horses, cope with new tasks, and regulate his emotions and let down.
Great progress for 2 weeks here doing groundwork with Priscilla. He is now looking ready to recommence ridden work now that he is a lot more relaxed and happy to be with people doing some training.
Oliver the Arab has made amazing progress in just two weeks with Priscilla working with him to help him with his separation anxiety. When he arrived to us he would constantly neigh to the other horses, and would push into whoever was leading him and in general was very distracted.
Now he’s able to regulate his emotions and shows good signs of processing and letting down. He now regularly rests a hind leg and lowers his head and breathes out and licks and chews- all signs of letting down and becoming more relaxed and able to cope away from other horses.
The walking figure 8 exercise with Soldier.
Rupert was much more relaxed today about the saddle. And even fine with an excavator working next to the roundyard!! 🤷♀️ the things that worry horses and the things that don’t sometimes make us wonder but it was good to see him lowering his head and letting down and not reacting when he moved off with the saddle on like the past two days. Getting back to a more relaxed and happy horse after having a bit of a set back with his confidence with the saddle.
Luka trotting along happily on his first trail ride 🥰🐴
It’s so nice to bring along a young horse like this, he had handling with me as a 2 year old, has continued good handling with his owner and then now as a 4 year old ready to start Priscilla has now done a great job starting him and developing his confidence as a riding horse. Soon he and his owner will be having fun together!
Apache and Tundra relaxed in the bush.
Tundras first trail ride in the bush! Trotting along happy as ever! 🥰🐴
