On Christmas Eve we had to make the incredibly difficult decision to put beautiful Cleo to sleep leaving behind her bouncing giant baby Tonka.
She was the absolute epitome of a gentle giant, awkwardly huge weighing 800kg, and needing a new float built to fit her in, she was also the sweetest, kindest most gentle mare I could have asked for.
She was an amazing mum, was loved by everyone who met her and even tried her hand in some equine assisted therapy which she excelled at.
We were looking forward to starting her riding career and had so many plans for her this year.

We have now tried to get another foal from Gwinny for 3 years and it looks like it’s not going to happen.
So she’s paddock bumming now but she looks amazing doing it

Today our amazing farrier had a big day and trimmed 10 horses feet. It’s a massive effort and we really appreciate her!

Big day for the two c**ts yesterday. Safe to say they are no longer c**ts.

Great learning experience too on and off the float a couple of times, staying the night at a new place and then actually being at the vets getting handled and doing all the things that they do at the Vets they’re recovering really well and will be able to take them home tomorrow.

It’s always really nice hearing feedback about how well they are to handle and how quiet and obliging they were.

Both these gorgeous boys will be looking for new homes

Tonka will have to be gelded he is an A Shire so must be gelded for that registry (I’m pretty sure)

Nemo is an F3 drum. He is 9.38% gypsy, 65.62% Shire and 25% clydie. He can be sold as a c**t or gelding. He will go grey like his dam and has the cutest crooked ear you have ever seen.

Both are sired by the magnificent black Shire stallion Drayhorse King of Spades, standing at 18.1hh

At 10.30 last night we welcomed this little man into the world. Primrose was the ultimate professional and popped him out and he was up and drinking so quick I thought he was a girl. 😂
Just waiting on prim to pass her placenta.
He has the same markings as prim when she was born and he will go grey just like her so we have another giant fluffy unicorn :-)

So Tonka (because is takes heavy machinery to move him) weighs in at a massive 70kgs and is down on his bumpers (as heavies often are) which made it hard for him to drink in those first hours.
Being the super cautious horse mum I am decided to take him to the vet at 11.30 pm last night, for a 3.5 hour drive, with co pilot extraordinaire Jaime.
Anyway long story short he has a very low IGG, 31 when it is meant to be over 800, so he will receive plasma to bump up his immune system. Cleo is being her normal amazing gentle awesome self, and a fabulous first time mum.
He is staying at the vet for a couple of nights to hopefully get him doing everything himself and strengthening those legs.

So he deserves a name, we always use song titles
