SNUGGLES PET RESORT CATTERY IS ON THE WAY!!

For all you cat lovers out there, there is great news ahead!

Snuggles Pet Resort's new cattery facility is being built and is likely to open some time in April 2025 - a firmer date will be set once we know.

The new facility, just like the Snuggles Pet Resort kennel facility, will be a world class facility, using the latest in cattery design, animal behavioural knowledge in contained environments, safe and practical materials and, of course, have the same, professional, caring and loving staff looking after your pets.

Each cat suite will be larger than most you have seen, with different sizes to suit different families and budgets, and some suites will come with some exceptionally exciting features - both for the cats and the owners!

Fully air-conditioned and heated with reverse cycle heat pump, dimmable downlights, lots of glass, light and airy - just a total new concept in looking after cats - properly!

No cat cupboards or cages the size of a microwave here - large in width, depth and height, large windows, multi-levels for play and rest at elevation, toys, hidden toilets for privacy, plenty of room for two cats in each suite and up to four in some others, and all with adjoining cat doors to join suites together - so we can cater for even the craziest cat lady!

Look out for our announcement on Open Days and our Opening Date when we get closer to the day.

There are even some things not mentioned here that will really stand out as different from the other catteries you might have seen and heard of. So you'll have to wait and see those for yourself on our open day.

We will be taking bookings for the cattery over December/January 2025 very soon, so also keep and eye out for that announcement.

DISRUPTIONS TO CUSTOMERS DUE TO BUILDING WORKS FOR OUR NEW CATTERY!!

Dear Customers,

Snuggles Pet Resort is undergoing extensive renovation at present, with major building works taking place at the front of our building for the addition of our long-promised cat boarding facility.

This will mean that access to our front entrance will not be possible until building works are complete, probably sometime in March 2025. The temporary main entrance to the building will now be at the side of the building, next to the driveway of the property.

You will still have access to the car park, and the walk to the new entrance will be clearly marked, and all other access will be blocked off for your safety.

The works, being at the front of the building, will not interrupt of interfere with normal business, the health, safety, care and comfort of your dogs, and will be, at most, a slight inconvenience for staff and customers.

But, come 1 April 2025 at the latest (I am reliably informed) Snuggles Pet Resort will unveil it’s new, world class, yet very affordable, luxurious, light-filled, modern, reverse cycle air-conditioned and heated cat boarding facility.

It will be the only one of it’s type in Australia (possibly the world), plenty of room for cats, lots of play equipment and relaxation retreats, private bathrooms, individual outdoor play areas, and a host of other special luxuries that every Snuggles cat guests deserves.

And, as we have always done with our kennel facility, the Snuggles cat boarding facility will provide the best of services at a much more reasonable cost than you can receive elsewhere, even if elsewhere had as good facilities as we will have.

DECEMBER/JANUARY BOOKINGS BALLOT NOW COMPLETE

The ballot for December and January bookings at Snuggles has now been completed and those drawn out randomly from the ballot have been advised.

If you entered the ballot and have not been advised of your success then, unfortunately, you are among those that missed out on your chosen dates.

Now that the ballot has been finalised and dates filled for Xmas and New Year primarily, bookings for the remainder of December and January are now open to all Snuggles customers.

What a boarding kennel should be!

DECEMBER/JANUARY BOOKINGS OPENING SOON!!

Due to the excessive amount of booking requests for the Christmas period in past years, and the number of cancellations and changes to bookings throughout the year from those booking 12 months ahead, Snuggles Pet Resort has decided this year to implement a ‘ballot’ system for Christmas bookings.

December/January bookings will therefore open on 1 May 2024 and close on 15 May 2024.

That is, booking requests that include the Xmas period itself (which includes 25 and 26 December 2024) will go into a draw, from which we will randomly draw bookings requests and then allocate those customers a kennel for the period they have chosen.

After all kennel vacancies have been filled from the ballot, successful customers will be advised by email and given seven (7) days to accept the booking by paying the 25% deposit, which, for the December/January period, is non-refundable and non-transferable (i.e., no credit if you cancel for any reason). If you decline your opportunity or we don’t receive an answer from you within that seven (7) days we will draw another request from the ballot to replace yours.

Furthermore, full payment for all December/January bookings will be required by 30 November 2024. If that booking is not fully paid for by 30 November that booking will be automatically cancelled and your deposit forfeited. A reminder will be sent by email prior to that date, so please ensure your contact details are up-to-date.

Once all 24 of our kennels have an occupant for Christmas, we will then selectively choose from the remaining booking requests those customer requests that best suit the available dates remaining and which fit the smooth running and social cohesion of the kennel facility over the period.

Once your booking is confirmed, you will NOT be able to alter the booking dates or times. What you book is what you get, what you pay for, and what we have assigned to you at the expense of someone else – so make sure you have committed to your chosen dates already!

All unsuccessful booking requests will go to our waiting list in the event that we still receive any cancellations.

To be eligible to make a December/January booking you must have previously stayed with Snuggles Pet Resort prior to 1 November 2023.
Bookings will remain open until COB Wednesday 15 May 2024.

There is no minimum or maximum length of stay required – you are free to request whatever period of time you require.

December/January booking requests will need to be made by email to:

I am sure that there will be many people disappointed with the outcome of the ballot and subsequent assignment of bookings for the remaining dates. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable whichever way we choose to manage our December/January bookings.

We hope, by doing it this way, that more people with planned holidays and commitments have an opportunity for a chance at obtaining a booking at their favourite kennel facility instead of having those bookings taken away by people who book ‘just in case’ they go away.

So, it may not be a perfect system, and it may not last longer than this very first year, but when we're turning away 1000 people each year from February onwards, we thought we'd try something different.

POSITION VACANT - JUNIOR KENNEL HAND

Snuggles Pet Resort has a Junior Kennel Hand position available for immediate start.

The position offers the opportunity to work with, and to be trained in the handling and care of, companion animals in the Canberra region's best animal boarding facility.

Work will involve cleaning up after dogs and cats, animal feeding, room cleaning, and, under guidance, the handling and care of the animals left in our care.

We are looking for a motivated individual who can use their initiative get on with the job whether on their own or working with other staff.

Work will mostly be on weekends and during school and other holidays such as long weekends, etc, on a monthly roster basis.

You do not need specific experience in animal management, just a willingness to learn, a history of pet ownership, a love of animals and the understanding that the pets we look after are the best-loved family members of our customers.

We pay above-award wages and will provide all training required to ensure you become a valued member of the Snuggles team.
