I wanted to share the latest documented research which has been published about Collars V Harnesses for our breed of dog by the UK Dachshund Breed Council UK and especially in relation to IVDD. Given the increasing popularity of harnesses used in our breed thought it was relevant to share.
So many harnesses on the market arent suitable for our breed of dog which contributes to gait and soft tissue injuries as well as ligament damage and issues across the shoulder all effecting gait. I wanted to reassure all my customers that if you are buying any one of my Hug Me harnesses they have been designed to ensure that all aspects of a dachshunds gentle anatomy has been kept in mind in my design. In a 2Royalhounds harness your dachshund will walk freely with on interference to gait, ligaments, tendons and shoulders or neck region.
Personally I have always preferred a collar and lead. But would only use my own if I choose to use a harness at all. So please when considering a harness you buy do also think about are they suited to your breed of dog. You could be doing more damage then good.

This gorgeous, fun loving little fella is going on a road trip this weekend to meet his excited new family 🤗🐶

His 2 energetic, beautiful bro’s may still be available for a loving home so if you live in the South East you could have your new baby by Saturday night ❤️

Most like his mum, sweet and loves cuddles and although he started out small, he loves the adventure of the back yard just as much as the others!

Most like his dad! Hilarious in all aspects and always up for adventure and very confident little puppy! On the flip side though just like his dad he loves his humans!!! And will be on your lap before you know it!

Both will make wondeful family pets as been raised with noisy twins!!! Lol
Or equally if your a single person this breed is a loyal as they come, and will bond with you and become a great mate! 🥰

I am a Small registered breeder so puppies have been raised both inside and have had outside time and been exposed to lots of different things! Well on their way to being toilet trained and had some basic training.

In Awe of this new little mumma 🐶🥰
She delivered these little gems on Thursday night starting at 10.30pm and all done by 3am👌
She is a terrific mum and very protective of her new family 🥰🐶

Also proud of my little gems for sleeping 7pm to 5am this same night, no midnight feed🙏 they must have known mumma was being a pooch nana for Harriet 🤗

And of course Uncle Frank and Dad Walter a little annoyed they can’t be involved with the new tiny sausages but Mum Harriet has her rules ☺️

If you have a new puppy don’t forget to ‘handle’ them from a young age at least once a day!
Your vets and vet nurses will thank you for it! 👌
Ps cuddling is different to handling 🤗

Get them use to allowing you to look in their ears, mouth, touch their toes, feel for lumps and bumps, grass seeds etc all over.
Start slowly and gently and BIG tip only do it when they are exhausted! not when they are ready to Play!

Enjoy your new puppies and we would love to meet them when you need a holiday! 🤣🤗
