Some people want their dogs to be emotionless, with the inability to express their canine behaviour. It must be hard for some dogs to conform to the walls of our lifestyles, and when they don't conform, they are labelled. A label that can lead to death.

"Just a generation ago if you went near a dog when he was eating and the dog growled, somebody would say, 'Don't go near the dog when he's eating!, what are you crazy?' Now the dog gets euthanized. Back then, dogs were allowed to say, NO. Dogs are not allowed to say no anymore...They can't get freaked out, they can't be afraid, they can never signal 'I'd rather not.' We don't have any kind of nuance with regard to dogs expressing that they are uncomfortable, afraid, angry, or in pain, worried, or upset. If the dog is anything other than completely sunny and goofy every second, he goes from a nice dog to an 'AGGRESSIVE' dog." - Jean Donaldson

To our dear followers, it’s Nicole here, adoption and foster intake co-ordinator of our rescue. I’m reaching out for urgent help tonight. It’s for precious Trevor. I wish I didn’t need to ask for donations just straight after new year. A time of celebration and joy. A time to be with family but to be honest we have no choice.

Rescue doesn’t discriminate. Rescue doesn’t stop in the new year. We must do whatever we can to investigate what is wrong as he continues to cough up blood. We don’t have any time to lose. We must act fast so need urgent donations.

I’m hoping at least 12 of you can kickstart our urgent fundraiser for Trevor by clicking here now: https://sunraysia-animal-rehousing-group.mygiveeasy.com/urgent-help-needed-for-trevor/donatenow

Poor precious Trevor. Trevor is a Rhodesian Ridgeback Cross. He's a beautiful boy who was dumped at one of our carer’s doors in the early morning.

Trevor was with our initial carer for 3 weeks and then we were able to place him into our foster carer network in a home.

From the day he arrived he had a hacky cough that went for over 3 weeks that then progressed to phlegm and then blood. We thought it was a kennel cough initially however after trying medication after medication, it just didn’t go away. Trevor has had numerous overnight ICU stays with nursing care due to how extreme the coughing and hacking and his inability to breathe properly.

Trevor's condition is chronic, painful and debilitating as it affects his breathing and eating. It pains us so much to see him not being able to walk and run like he should.

We’ve just conducted some extensive x-rays to see if we can work out exactly what is wrong. It seems as though he has a bone fragment lodged which will require surgery. Too sad for words.

We must do whatever we can for Trevor. He’s come so far and been through so so much.

We were put on this planet to help precious animals like Trevor in their darkest hours. We will not let him down. However, we need your help tonight to relieve some of the financial stress we are facing.

We need to raise at least $10,000 to pay off all the vet bills that Trevor has built up and to make sure we can continue to do whatever we can for Trevor. There is still a long road ahead for Trevor.

Just $5 from each and every one of you would get us to our goal. It’s the cost of your next cup of coffee but one that will help us so very much.

If you can please write the word DONE below after you have donated and please please share this post far and wide. We need to do this for Trevor. We really do need this post to go viral.

This is our time of need. We are all anxious. Doing all we can for Trevor but desperately need these funds right now as you can imagine.

Much love always and thank you so much ###x.
