🦠 WARNING PARVOVIRUS 🦠

The Sunraysia area is experiencing large volumes of parvo affected patients. With over 15 cases in the last couple of weeks presented to our clinic alone, passing our total number of cases for 2023.

WHAT IS PARVOVIRUS?
Canine parvovirus is a highly contagious virus that is spread from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with infected faeces.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN SYMPTOMS OF PARVOVIRUS?
Lethargy
Loss of appetite
Vomiting
Bloody diarrhoea

HOW IS PARVOVIRUS TREATED?
Fluid replacement (IV drip), antibiotics, nausea control and pain relief. Patients need to remain in isolation until they are no longer infectious. The recovery process can be long and treatment is expensive. There are no home remedies.

HOW TO PREVENT PARVOVIRUS?
It’s simple, VACCINATE!
Make sure your puppy/dog is FULLY vaccinated and stays up to date with it’s yearly vaccine.
Until such time as your puppy/ dog is fully vaccinated, avoid public areas.

Congratulations to our club members who got passes in both Obedience and Rally over the weekend. It was wonderful to see so many club members trialling, its been a long time since we've had 6 members entered in our trial.
Thanks to our judge Lorraine McKay for a fun weekend and being supportive of the novice handlers.
Geoffrey, Kylie and Rick did an amazing job stewarding all weekend ensuring the ring ran super smoothly and Lyn and Josie wove their usual magic in the kitchen keeping everyone feed.
It was terrific to catch up with old friends and make new ones, hopefully we'll see you all again next year.

Some of our club members got passes today in Rally. Narelle and Angel got their 3rd pass in Novice and now have their Rally Novice title. Michael and Winter also passed in Rally Novice and Lyn and Bonnie passed in Rally Masters.

What a wonderful day to go tracking. We had 6mm of rain yesterday which freshened up the grounds beautifully. This morning was sunny with a gentle breeze, perfect tracking conditions.
First out was Megan with Drax doing a track 1 who passed with a grading of very good. Megan then changed gears and handled Donny the mini dachie on his track 1. They also passed, with a grading of good. Congratulations! The first of what we're sure will be many passes.
