Oh Donald you are so handsome!

Donald was in recently for the big snip ✂️ and definitely got his fair share of cuddles from the team, including Nurse Kierra.

At the clinic we do our best to help your pet feel safe and loved while they are with us! Sometimes that’s providing a nice quiet place for them to sleep, sometimes that’s lots of cuddles and pats. We do our best to tailor your pets experience at the vet to what they prefer and need to feel safe. 🐾

What an enrapturing gaze!

Mischa is a beautiful Domestic Short Hair that came in following an eye injury! We take eye injuries very seriously and he was prescribed multiple medications to help the eye heal. With a lot of medicating from his dedicated owner and much TLC, we are happy to report Mischa’s eye has healed well! 🐾

Any eye injuries should be taken seriously and an appointment made as soon as possible. Signs of eye injuries include:
🐾 squinting (eye pain)
🐾 discharge
🐾 the front of the eye looking cloudy, red or swollen
🐾 rubbing at the eye

If you notice your pet showing any of the above, book your pet in for an eye check. 👀

We always know Pumba when he comes in by those distinctive ears!

Pumba is a 2 year old American Staffordshire that came in recently for his health check and vaccination. His owners have put an amazing amount of work into this boy as he loves life and was very boisterous as a teenager. Here he is showing his beautiful manners and those wonderful ears!

Well Done Pumba- you’re a star! ⭐️

Happy Howl’eween everyone!

Just a reminder to keep any chocolates or sweets away from our furry friends as they can cause a nasty tummy upset. Also be mindful of any decorations such as fake cobwebs as these can cause an intestinal blockage if ingested by your pet. They can also pose a risk to our wildlife which can become entrapped in them.

Stay safe and stay spooky 🎃👻🐾🐈‍⬛

Meet little Pippin! Isn’t she just the cutest little lady?

Pip came in recently for a health check to assess some skin lumps that had come up. We found a very dark raised lump that concerned us and opted for surgical removal under an anaesthetic.

On results from the laboratory we found that the lump was a melanoma! Good news is that it was removed with good margins and we expect a great outcome for little Pip.

Pip is a little nervous so we helped her in a few ways to cope-
🐾 a little bit of calming medication to have at home prior
🐾 a late admission time
🐾 avoiding an Elizabethan cone of shame. Instead her owners found a fitted t-shirt that protected the surgery area.

If your pet is nervous, we are always happy to discuss options that will help them through a veterinary experience like surgery. 🐾❤️🐾

One of these dogs is not like the other… 😂

This fantastic foursome came in recently for their health checks and vaccinations. We have three Murray River Retrievers- August, Amaretto and Cinnamon- and the odd one out Tradie (a Kelpie x).

We are quite impressed we managed to get this photo but we can’t take credit- it was all down to the expert training by their dad.

Day 2:

For those of you who saw Matilda’s x-ray, we are excited to reveal the diagnosis!! Matilda had a nasty habit of playing with hair ties!!! She had been collecting them inside her tummy for some time. Her problem because critical when one hair tie moved into the intestine where it formed a blockage. Matilda had surgery, same day, to remove the hair ties. A total of 18 were removed!!!

Here she is in recovery looking much happier for those hair ties being out than in! 🐾

Day 1: Let’s play a guessing game!! 🐾

Gorgeous ragdoll kitty, Matilda, gave her owners a very stressful start to their holiday recently! She became gravely ill on the day they were due to go on the trip of a lifetime 😨!!

Luckily we were able to see her quickly & diagnose her problem. Can you tell from the X-ray below what might have caused her sickness?? We will reveal the answer tomorrow.

Uh Oh! Someone thought it was a good idea to get into the fishing tackle!

Curiosity got the better of Luna and she unfortunately ended up with a fishing hook and lure stuck in her lip! This happens more often than you would think.

She underwent a short sedation to cut the hook and remove it. Safe to say she was looking a lot happier once the hook was removed!

Has your pet allowed curiosity to land them in trouble? Feel free to share your pets story below with a photo of the culprit. 🐾

Little Zena definitely stole Dr Jess’ heart when she came in for her puppy vaccination. Zena’s brother and sister are regulars at Moe Vets and we were thrilled when their owners announced they were introducing another member of the family.

She is settling into things well and we can’t wait to see what the future brings for this wonderful little lady. This will definitely be the last time she fits on the consult room table though 🐾🐶🐾😄
