We’ve had a number of property stays this year ~ where we go and stay on a clients property and care for their animals: their pets/poultry/livestock/horses ~ whatever they need caring for.

We’ve also had a large number of property visits,some of which have been particularly challenging during periods of widespread flooding.

Extreme weather events make simple tasks that bit more difficult for everyone but animals still need feeding and we ensure animals assigned to us, receive the care they need. ♥️

♥️ This absolutely gorgeous kitty is needing a new home. ♥️ He’s a sweet boy named Harry, he’s 5-6yo, in excellent condition, microchipped & very good with other animals.

He is currently cohabiting with 2 dogs he didn’t know previously ♥️ and is pretty chill with them. ♥️

Please support your local Braidwood SES Unit’s efforts on behalf of active & veteran service personnel.

As a unit we are making good ground and individually I’m very pleased with my 19km progress 3 days in (not bad for an old stick!).

It is our great pleasure to serve our local community and we hope our efforts will encourage others to join us.

We are a dynamic team of volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds, who genuinely care about each other and serving you in whatever capacity is needed. If you see us walking around town, give us a toot, a wave or a smile. ♥️

My March On, Soldier On journey has begun (1/3) as I aim to complete the 96km Kokoda Trail walk to raise funds to combat veteran su***de. I’m currently 3 days in and at 19kms, I’m making good ground. ♥️😎♥️

We are so much luckier than the service personnel who hike the Kokoda trail, as I’m not tromping through subtropical climes, lugging a heavy pack, weaponry etc etc.

It’s been another busy period ~ but filled with great animals and lovely clients. We’ve been taking care of property’s, visiting & walking a growing number of doggos in Braidwood & caring for animals at home. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Im in Lake Bathurst for the week looking after a lovely property out here with livestock, chooks, cats & dogs and … oh my … how the landscape has changed!!!

There’s actually water in Lake Bathurst and it’s right up to the road. It’s a very different world indeed. ♥️🌼♥️

I’m a proud member of the Braidwood SES family and we are looking for recruits.

In the SES, I have had opportunities to participate in land search & rescues, supporting the community in times of storms & floods and addressing storm & water damage, clearing tree falls, providing support for (police) traffic accident investigations, supported flood rescues, vertical rescues, and working at heights but there are all sorts of roles you can play.

If you’re not comfortable being operational, there are plenty of non-operational roles to be filled, including: radio operations (IMT), unit logistics, community liaison and OH&S roles etc.

The SES provides all the training you need to work safely and efficiently in whatever capacity you wish.

A too busy xmas period looking after these guys, cats, chooks, poddies and peacocks on three different properties.

These guys love a dip in the damn morning and night and it IS fun watching them swim around. Being a hot weekend, we rigged up extra shade in their runs and filled plastic shells for cooling play and hydration.
