Toby is excited to announce that our Montrose VetCentre & New Norfolk VetCentre will soon be implementing GapOnly! We will keep you posted when this is available to use within our clinic.

🎉 MEET THE TEAM 🎉

Carmen started at Montrose Vet Centre as a veterinary nurse at the end of 2016.

Throughout her time with our team, Carmen has developed a special interest in nurse consulting and hydrotherapy/animal rehabilitation. She loves seeing patients getting stronger from their treadmill sessions and being a part of the process.

Outside of work Carmen is a wonderful mum to her daughter and loves spending time with family.

Carmen is pictured here with our treadmill regular, Jake!

Just like regular Olympics, except every one of our superstars win when they’re on the underwater treadmill!

The Water Walker is amazing for arthritic pets, those recovering from surgery and for weight loss and maintenance too!

Here is Ginny showing a winning form. Call the team if you’d like information on how your pet can benefit from this treatment.

Congratulations to our Practice Manager, Allison, on being one of the first three to complete the PEAK Practice Manager development pathway!

We have several of our team members undertaking different development programs at present, and we’re excited to see the positive changes these opportunities bring to our clinics!

Congratulations to Lisa Blood from Vets4Pets; Sharon Geeson from Vetwest Animal Hospitals Whitford; and Allison Lennox from Montrose VetCentre and New Norfolk Vet Centre, who are the first three Practice Managers to complete the PEAK Practice Manager Development Pathway!

We launched PEAK in 2023, with 175 Practice Managers across VetPartners clinics participating in the program which focuses on building leadership skills that are specific to the veterinary profession.

This pathways aims to further develop capability in operational efficiency, people leadership, financial management and more! Some of the feedback we received upon completion:

- Lisa said that she loved the opportunity to bring all her knowledge together as well as understand more about financials and how to actively analyse and understand data.

- Sharon has been able to readily apply some of the learnings to her day to day role, including using margin reports and margin bench marks; managing stock and COGS; and understanding the little things that can make a big impact.

- Allison appreciated being able to work through the program at her own pace without feeling rushed, and overall found the learning experience beneficial to help her feel more comfortable in her role.

We look forward to supporting more team members to complete the program over the coming months!

VET NURSE - FULL TIME - HOBART, TASMANIA

Montrose & New Norfolk VetCentre is looking for the next experienced Vet nurse to join their supportive and passionate team!

About us:

We are a very friendly and supportive team in a busy hospital, but we always make time for our staff wellbeing. We have a varied caseload with many exciting surgeries like TPLO cruciate repairs, fracture repairs, and other complex surgeries and medical workups.

Our hospitals are exceptionally well equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, electrocautery, orthopaedic equipment, underwater treadmill, and high-quality in-house laboratory with direct access to IDEXX external laboratory.

What you’ll do:

✔️Provide effective support to veterinarians in all aspects of veterinary nursing, including animal handling, IV catheter placement and blood collection
✔️Maintain an excellent level of patient care and customer service at all times, treating every patient as if they were your own
✔️Maintain a consistently high level of organisation and cleanliness in the hospital and kennel areas at all times. All members of our team help with all tasks, including cleaning and including the vets! It is not unusual to see a vet clean a cage or mop the floor so if you don’t like to clean, this is not the workplace for you. “Team work makes the dream work!”
✔️Predominantly assist in reception as a consultant and triage nurse

What you’ll bring:

✔️Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent) with at least 2 years clinical experience
✔️You must be easy going yet organised and self-driven. Team players only.
✔️The ability to lead by example
✔️A keen desire to deliver excellent standards of patient care and customer service at all times.
✔️Excellent general computer literacy. Working knowledge of VisionVPMS is an advantage.
✔️Excellent communication and organisational skills
✔️A genuine love for animals and their people.

What’s in it for you?

✔️Above award salary, reflective of your skills and willingness to learn.
✔️Family/lifestyle friendly work environment
✔️No after-hours work
✔️Comprehensive family pet discounts
✔️Access to in-house mental health and general well-being workshops and an Employee Assistance Program
✔️Free access to VetPartners Veterinary Training Centres
✔️Other employment benefits (e.g., paid parental leave, discounts at various stores/general household expenses)

VetPartners is an equal opportunity employer and recognises that diversity is crucial to our success. Whatever your identity and background, if this role sounds like you, then please ‘Apply Now’

18/06/2024

It is with mixed emotions that we share some news with you, our wonderful clients. Dr. Scott Rogers, who has dedicated 26 years to our hospital and supported our team and patients unconditionally, has made the difficult decision to retire earlier than anticipated due to medical reasons.

Scott will stay in touch with our team, having built many professional and personal relationships over the years. However, as many of you know, he has been out of action for several months, and the time has come when, unfortunately, you will no longer see him around our hospital or any of the other local clinics.

Rest assured, we have a wonderful team of veterinarians, nurses and receptionists ready to help you and your pets, along with a few new starters in the pipeline. We will continue to provide the high-quality care and attention you have come to expect from our team.

We will be holding a small internal farewell for Scott, and we would love for you to comment on this post with any memories, stories, or farewell wishes. We will compile these into a farewell card for Dr. Rogers, who will be dearly missed by our team and the local community.

If you have any specific questions regarding this change, please feel free to email our friendly leadership team at [email protected]

Have you heard of letting the cat out of the bag??!

Mhudi Dhong arrived at the New Norfolk clinic in a specialty cat bag last week, and he was in his element, being very chilled and happy! 😻

Mhudi Dhong is much more comfortable in his travel bag than a carrier, and because he is less stressed, it makes examinations easier.

Dr Chiquita and nurse Julia recently had the pleasure of treating Frankie the galah!

Frankie had a damaged toe, and the team successfully amputated during a delicate surgery and anaesthesia.

With a bit of initiative and imagination, the perfect collar was fashioned for Frankie to prevent any trauma to the stitches!
