Vet wanted at Mooloolah Vet - as seen in SEEK:

Part time Veterinarian wanted in Sunshine coast + accommodation + no after hours + no weekends.

Work at a great practice with experienced nurses and loyal clients and a happy but professional work culture. The practice primarily services companion animals and some hobby farm animals (e.g. goats, sheep, alpaca) but no horse or cattle work. The practice is well equipped in a professionally designed shop fitout conversion of a large house. Plenty of support from the owner for younger graduates. Specialist and emergency practices for referral if needed are situated nearby. Accommodation can be secured with the job if wanted.

Work hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm Mon to Fri with no after hours or weekend work. You can work one day a week or up to four days a week, negotiable with the owner.

To the person that stole our metal radiographic case from our garage at 5:10am on Monday 18th March - we have you on video camera - we want our case back or we will be going to the police. It is not worth any resale value but it does have parts of our radiographic system that we want back. The Mooloolah Vet Team.

Dear clients, Dr Rob has a family commitment that means he will be away from the surgery from 13-29th June inclusive. Unfortunately due to the extreme shortage of Vets across Australia the clinic will have to close from 13-24th June. The clinic will be open again from Mon 27th June. Our great nurses Kristie & Faye will be here to answer phone calls and dispense medications and products from then onwards but Dr Rob will not be back until Thursday 30th June. Nicky from K9 Love grooming will still be operating from the premises during the time that the Vet Surgery is closed.
We regret any inconvenience caused. If you need Veterinary attention for your furry friends during the time that we are closed please call a neighbouring Vet Surgery. If your pet is on medications please make sure you have enough to cover the time we are closed. Thank you for your understanding. Kind Regards, Dr Rob.

Help, we need a vet nurse! Sadly, our long time great nurse Tamsin is leaving us for other things in 2 weeks. We need a experienced qualified vet nurse or vet tech to fill her shoes as soon as possible. If you or anyone you know are interested please call Dr Rob at the clinic on 54929510 or email [email protected]. We would love to hear from you.

Thank you for your support in 2021 and have a safe and happy festive season. We look forward to looking after you and your pets in 2022. Kind regards, Dr Rob & Team, Mooloolah Vet.

WARNING - Ticks are out in large numbers right now. We unfortunately have had to treat 10 cases in the last 2 weeks. Ticks are preventable. Not all products kill paralysis ticks but they sure can kill your four leg friend. Please check that you are using the right product and it is up to date. If you are not sure about what to use please call us or come in for some educated advice.

Dear Pet Owners
*
The veterinary profession is in big, big trouble. 😔
*
This is because we have more vets leaving than joining. This is especially true for regional or fringe areas.
*
What this means is your community may soon have no vets to serve you and your pets in the future.
*
Just yesterday we read about another reputable country practice having to close their doors because they can’t find vets to fill the positions. 😢
*
This is a tragedy.
*
We know it’s a tough job that’s become more and more complex and demanding over the years.
*
The expectations of veterinary and human healthcare from a pet owner’s perspective are the same but we don’t always have the necessary infrastructure to support it. This includes 24 hour and emergency services or government co-funding as in human healthcare. Coming up with a solution or a quick fix for your pet’s problem in a 15 or 20 minute consultation is not always possible and treatments can be costly.
*
While there are many reasons for this vet shortage crisis there is one thing you can do TODAY to help. 👍
*
If you have a vet in your community be open to having a genuine working relationship with them. This goes a long way in maintaining morale. If you have a concern or a problem – please speak with them directly and don’t take it out on them on Social Media. You'll be surprised what differences can be resolved over a chat. 🤲
*
Most often these clinics are owned by families just like yours which means they face the same personal challenges as you do. Being called out on Social Media for things that they can’t always do differently, or control destroys them.
*
Send them some positive stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ on social media to show your support. It costs you nothing but makes a big difference. Honestly just being open deserves a rating.
*
You have pets – you care for them and you want your local vet to be around when you need them. Otherwise you risk having to travel miles for vet services and in an emergency situation that may not always end well.
*
So this Easter instead of giving chocolates 🍫🍬🍫 to your hard working vets and nurses – send stars instead.

Holiday Closure: We are closing from 28/06/21 to 02/07/21.
We are temporarily closing for the first week of the school holidays to give our staff a much needed break. Due to the shortage of veterinarians Australia wide we are unable to get a veterinarian to keep the clinic open during this time. We reopen with normal hours from Monday 5/07/21.
If veterinary attention is needed during this time please contact another clinic nearby. Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
