Obamburumai set the benchmark in 2023 and 🇯🇵 will try to make it 2 from 2 in the Golden Eagle in 2024 with Ascoli Piceno and Corazon Beat. The ultra prepared Northern Farm have sent their champion filly who arrived in great order into Canterbury Quarantine and we’ll see her and CB in action on Nov 2nd at Rosehill.

Occasionally you see something in this industry which makes you stop, ponder and draw a deep breath. Unique. Lot 127 (Maurice x Marble Cake) was especially rare this year as he was a true White C**t and put for sale by Northern farm at the Select Sale, Hokkaido Japan. Unlike grey horses, which are born with dark pigmented skin and whose hair coat lightens with time, these dominant white horses are born with unpigmented skin and remain white for their entire lives. SOLD for 1.75M AUS.

Canterbury Park Quarantine Centre houses the international horses destined to race in Sydney over the Spring and Autumn carnivals. It has the same import protocols as Werribee International Quarantine centre outside Melbourne, and like Werribee has training facilities for racehorses. Connections which wish to race their horses in Melbourne from here, have to undergo cumpulsory imaging of their fetlocks before a race start in Victoria, so strategic planning is required.

We say goodbye to the 2023 Cox plate champion Romantic Warrior, who flys back to Hong Kong today. He spent 44 days in Vintage Crop barn, Werribee Qurantine centre and lived in the same box as Lys Gracieux (2019 Cox Plate winner), hint hint for any future Cox plate internationals. What a privilege to look after Romantic Warrior, for the last 7 weeks in Australia.

It is a momentous occasion for the Hong Kong Jockey Club and trainer Danny Shum. Danny went to Ascot with Little Bridge and now he can add the Cox Plate to his achievements.

All being well tomorrow morning, we will get him ready for his business class return flight back to HK on Monday. Racing.com HKJC Racing Victoria
