As we are asking horses to do new and challenging things it will not happen perfectly. We live in a culture that criticizes anything that doesn’t look just right. So where does that leave a student and a horse? In my experience it leaves us scared to try new things, to push our limits or put ourselves out there. Its ok if your horse is not perfectly relaxed as they are working through a new question or as you are trying to learn how to feel it. So do your best to let the judgers judge, the haters hate and have fun with your learning, spend time with people who support you and enjoy the process of trying new things and putting yourself out there!
