🐶 When should I get my puppy groomed?
From 16 weeks old, no matter their breed or coat type. Here’s why it’s so important:

✨ Builds positive associations with grooming early on
✨ Teaches patience while being handled
✨ Gets them used to the grooming table and tools
✨ Gives you advice tailored to your puppy’s coat and lifestyle
✨ Sets the foundation for stress-free grooms as adults

🛁 Prep tips at home:
✔️ Gently handle their paws, ears and tail so they’re comfortable being touched
✔️ Keep brushing sessions short and regular, focusing on preventing knots instead of removing them
✔️ Place them on a mat on a table or washing machine to practice standing calmly, this helps them understand it’s a “grooming session” and not playtime
✔️ Reward calm behaviour with pats and praise. End with a treat so they finish on a positive note

📅 Best schedule: Every 2–4 weeks until 6 months old to lock in the basics. Your groomer will guide you on the best routine for your pup, based on their personality and the work you’re doing at home.

Whether they hate being away from you and their family or just simply don't love the grooming process, these tips are great to put in place to help your dog in being happier and more confident around their spa days. 💆‍♀️

Holey moley our brains are full after a huge weekend. We (Mandi and Sam) completed the Advanced Science Workshop with the Pet Skin Academy in Brisbane last weekend and we are one step closer to becoming Certified Pet Aestheticians.
We’re so excited to start putting everything into practice and deep dive into the ‘why’ and how to move forward solving skin and hair issues.

Skin issues are something we see every single day in the salon. Some dogs come in with chronic, painful conditions that feel never ending, and it takes a toll on both the pets and the owners who are trying everything to help. Our goal is to work closely with vets and pet owners to get these dogs as comfortable as possible and give everyone some real support and direction.

We’re so proud to be levelling up in this space and can’t wait to bring this knowledge into the salon.
A big thank you to Naomi at Groomer Nation for being an amazing host and knowledgable mentor. As well as Dr Cliff Faver DVM and Suzanne Marchetti from Iv San Bernard USA for letting us pick their brains, ask all the questions and teaching us the tricks of the trade from what they’ve learnt over their many years of experience.
