Not many pets enjoy New Year’s celebrations like we do. This is due to the loud noises that come from fireworks or thunder.
To keep your pet feeling safe throughout the celebrations that will occur on the Mornington Peninsula, take a look at some of our tips to help. 👇
1. Keep your pet inside where they feel safe. Somewhere dark, insulated & cozy is best - Ensure you have plenty of water for those really anxious pets.
2. Close all curtains and doors so they can’t see outside. It helps to put the TV or radio on for white noise as it drowns out the loud noises.
3. Give a special treat or toy that they can play with. This can sometimes be enough to distract them from what’s going on outside.
4. Products such as Thunder Jackets, Adaptil diffusers, or Zylkene Supplements can work wonders in keeping your pet calm. These are available in the clinic.
