Patient of the week - Chicken Eyela 🐓

This sweet chicken (fondly named Eyela) visited the clinic for an eye infection that wasn’t resolving. Upon closer inspection Dr Jodie deemed the eye was not able to be saved and the decision was made to remove Eyela’s eye. She was such an amazing patient throughout her procedure and recovery, she even laid an egg for us in hospital! Eyela has returned home and has continued to adapt and thrive every day!

We have a new team member! Olivia will be joining the team as our new kennel hand.

Olivia's love for animals is unmatched. All her jobs in the past few years have had to do with animals! She started with us at Moss Vale Vets in April 2024 as a part time kennel hand attending to our boarding cats on a Sunday.

Olivia has worked two kennel hand jobs, pet sitting, dog walking and currently works in a grooming salon helping out wherever she can and learning as much as possible.

Olivia is a local gal who has lived in the Southern Highlands her whole life… Her favourite thing to do in her spare time is spending time with her gorgeous pup, Slinky, who taught Olivia her love for animals. She also loves to socialise with her friends and family as much as she can!

Olivia's favourite part of the job is showing her love for animals in looking after them and making sure they’re happy and content!

Amelia joined the team at Moss Vale Vet in February 2024 as a part-time receptionist. She is a qualified vet nurse with two years' experience in a surgery and field environment.

Amelia is a local girl who grew up in the Southern Highlands and has a love of the great outdoors, especially camping and exploring with her dog Jojo.

The best part of the job for Amelia is building relationships with our wonderful clients and their pets.

Junior Cattery Attendant (16-20 years) SUNDAYS ONLY

We are currently searching for the next enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated Junior Cattery member (16-20 years) to join our Team on a Sunday.

Our Cattery offers the best in boarding care and we are looking for a team member to work independently within the role to deliver the best care for our boarding patients. We are compassionate and enthusiastic and always strive to give our feline friends the most comfortable stay possible. We are looking for someone with those same passions for customer service and patient care to excel within this role.

Duties and responsibilities:
• General animal husbandry
• Providing of food and water for cats in our care
• Administering medication to cats in our care
• Daily admin duties such as updating animal records
• Providing adequate enrichment and play for cats during their stay.
Key Requirements:
• Must have a strong work ethic as the role does require a lot of attention to detail
• Confidence in handling cats
• Must work well autonomously – as this is a sole charge shift (I.e you will be working alone)
• Must be able to follow cattery protocol and procedures
• Previous experience in an animal husbandry role is desired
• Strong organizational and Time Management skills to complete all tasks required throughout the shift.
• Basic computer knowledge
• Able to work split shifts during the day, this generally means a morning shift and then a separate afternoon shift where required.

Part-Time Veterinary Receptionist (12-month Maternity Leave Coverage) -Small Animal Vets – Southern Highlands NSW


Our clinic is seeking a Part-Time week veterinary receptionist extraordinaire to join our friendly and experienced team.

What we are looking for;

- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Reception or Customer Support
- Exceptional customer service skills and phone manner
- A strong sense of professionalism, enthusiasm, compassion and empathy
- Polite and resilient nature
- A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work well under pressure
- Comfortable working with animals
- Strong communication skills and teamwork
- Efficient computer and organisational skills
- Ability to use initiative, assume responsibility for tasks and to resolve problems
- Knowledge of EzyVet is advantageous but not essential
- Medical background or Veterinary Reception/Nurse background is preferred but not essential

- 17 hrs per week – 2 days per week (8:30am-5:30pm)
