JR Cutting & Performance Horses Offering Horse Training, Clinics & Private Tuition for Horse & Ride in Equine Performance events. Specialising in Cow Horses Events.

Welcome to JR Cutting and Performance Horses! Based 8 km from the beautiful township of Toogoolawah in the scenic Brisbane Valley (approximately 60 minutes from Caboolture or Ipswich), we offer a broad range of equine services from starting, training and showing horses in Cutting and other Performance Horse disciplines as well as holding Horsemanship and Cattle working clinics, specialised Cutting

clinics and youth and family clinics. We also offer full service agistment facilities and Equissage treatments. Rick Kickham has been in the horse industry for some 30 years and is a well known face around the cutting pen. He is known by one and all for his diverse skills and experience which ranges from track work within the thoroughbred industry to saddle bronc riding and other rodeo events to breaking in, starting, training and showing many great cutting horses. Horses trained by Rick have been shown competitively at Aged events, Open Company and Non Pro classes. Julieann Baulch has a wealth of knowledge having worked on the land with cattle and horses for over 15 years. Julieann’s approachable manner enables her to excel at building horse and rider confidence through her vast experience, knowledge and ability to break down horsemanship training into easy building block steps for greater rider understanding and maximum results. Having consistently delivered clinics all over Queensland for the past seven years, Rick and Julieann pride themselves on ensuring everyone has a ‘fair go’ and goes home from their clinics and private lessons happy having learned something new and having improved themselves and their horse through the training and horsemanship skills offered. All clinics are conducted in a fun and easy to understand manner and ensure plenty of one on one attention and ample opportunity to answer any questions and assist riders to work through any problems they are having with their horses. PJ is a versatile quiet been there done that gelding, that is easy to get along with and do anything with. PJ has had a full cutting program, shown lightly and has transitioned to campdrafting easily. With limited outings he has had 4 starts to 4 finals and won his last 2 Snaffle Cutting Classes.
We have seen him been ridden by inexperienced youth riders (under supervision) and he comes back to their level, only to then be ridden by an experience rider and he steps straight back up.
Excellent horse for the whole family.
